Kauffman does it without any problems as well. One of the managers sometimes asks me " If they're for just rolling around the garage on?". I think that's his way of trying to escape liability.
Yea considering they already mounted about 10 sets of 225's on 9's for me it seems odd that they changed their policy.

I'm using the same tire/wheel combo for about 3 years whitout any problem, my tire shop mount them only saying that these wheels are magically light for the size

edit: And I have to say, it's just a bit distasteful if you actually know Myron. One of the most polite, self effacing and courteous people you'll meet at the tracks her in Cali. That's actually how he talks. Tacky as **** Luke.
Can't make everyone happy Emilio but truly it's not your job to try anyway. If he's that upset with you or me, he should just come out and say what's on his mind and stop with the petty one line jabs. It's unhealthy to keep this much animosity bottled up.

When I got the tires, I took a measurement across the tire face since it looked a little large for a 205. It's actually 8 7/16 (214.31mm). Your pictures confirm that there is minimal stretch of the sidewall. This tire looks to have been made for this wheel. BTW, thanks for the pics.

Don't over think it. Some people are just asshats. I noticed there are a few in every forum. Must be small dick syndrome.

I feel bad for Emilio who has to deal with the nonsense and temper his response due to public image. I on the other hand have no problem calling someone out who is a D*%^$#@!.

This stuff is being driven by stupid lawsuits. Someone mounts tires and installs on a vehicle and then the guy goes and wrecks and kills someone and they sue the national chain store cause they got deep pockets.

BJ's once refused to sell me tires that weren't exactly the same size as what his book said the car came with originally. I went back a different day...

That is the problem with my local tire shop. They will mount the tires, but they never see the car they go on. And while they have plenty of autosports techs, and they perform alignments, don't ask for an alignment spec outside of factory range because they won't do it for you. However since they mount tires and are local, I throw them the DDs for alignment and take the Miata ~50 miles away to get aligned.
