And, I did not even have to prepay for them. I presume it is because I am in their system since I have bought lots of tires from them over the years.

Seriously, Discount Tire will come WAY down on most any of their tire prices if you press hard enough. I used to get pricing battles going between them and NTB over the phone.

Suckers. My local store has been doing $540/set for me for the last 3 sets.

That's including mount/balance.

yeah thats what i did last time. discount tire matched onlinetires.com + free shipping. but he made me get them heat cycled but still came out cheaper than onlines tires price. plus we get free mount and balance at a local shop.

the trick at discount is to find someone into cars or into you and always go back to the same person. they'll always give you better service lol, and cut you deals, etc.... that's what i did when i was a manager at one. the deals, not the hand job part.

And I was hoping so much for a hand job for a second there

Well, Discount Tire just called with some news. They already have the tires at the store. One day delivery, without one-day delivery costs. How sweet is that?

Now, if only you could remember to actually pick them up before heading to the track!

Heheee. Actually that gives me an excuse. I could have run 10 seconds faster, but since I forgot the backup tires, I wanted to be sure I got through the weekend so I backed off. Plus Hustler has a fragile ego so I did not want to crush him.

I did pick them up today, $544 with tax as quoted. Four NT-01s will fit in the back seat of an M3.

I seriously just lol'd so hard I almost cried.

I was putting down 1:41s at Road Atlanta this past weekend on my year old NTO1s that have 16 track days on them - still great with new BBK. I'll always be on NTO1s unless I really need to become competitive, then it'll be Hoosiers...

Then again, I ain't as baller as Sav either...

It's The Tire Store in San Luis Obispo, CA; not a large chain with multiple locations AFAIK.
