It looks like I'm a little late to the party, but I'll take two sets. Thanks for bringing this to fruition.

snap rings and aluminum stock have been ordered. im going to go visit the machine shop tomorrow to give them money and finalize the details. ive been given an eta of 1.5-2 weeks. i should have the spacers done within that time frame so im hoping to ship around the end of the month. thanks for the quick payment everyone.

hi_im_sean 01-13-2015 08:30 PM

18 sets paid for and someone canceled so 2 sets left available for sale!

$99

I put mine in this weekend. I wish we went with a more generous chamfer on the side that we push the spherical in from and I also wish that we made that bore so it would have been a very slight clearance on the spherical.

Mine slid right in with 0 effort, did you sand the bore clean?

If the bearing is a slip fit in the bore it will pound the snap ring out, especially if you are making power and running slicks. This assumes you install the shoulder in the braking force direction (to the rear). Installing the other way would be even worse. It would be to difficult to machine a snap ring groove in such a way as to reduce slop to 0. Especially when the aouras seem to be at least +/- 0.002".

Do you want some 7075 spacers?

Could always install the bearing with the same green loctite.

no no, just from the outside edge to the snap ring would have been nice to be a hair over a press fit. The fit where the bearing sits was perfect. The hardest part was getting the bearing into the sleeve straight. Once I had the 2nd one half way in I realized I should have installed the sphericals with the sleeves out of the car.

oh i got ya. the machinist said he was going to make the bore outside the snap ring groove just a little larger on the production run. not a free fit, but not as tight of a press fit either. and yea its way easier to put them on an arbor press/vice/hydraulic press before the are in the car.

i made an install tool for the bearing that can be whored around for those that are interested. just pay shipping to the next guy. or ship your bearings to me and ill press them in for you.

Bronze outers with steel centers? These take the place of the steel bushings, and (I assume) are the same thickness so the urethane doesn't need to be hogged out? If so, very cool!
