I think this is the winner of the form follows function shock tower bar contest. It's an Audi B7 A4 (an Avant is my DD) OEM sport suspension bar. Shown below on it's side - no hinges, just two big bolts at either end. A serious piece of Ingolstadt anti-flex to help control two tons of Germanic schteel.
