Got new tires yesterday. Drives SOO much better, it's like night and day. Way more traction, quieter, more comfy. Commute to work this morning was a delight

Oh yeah I didn't get 45's. They had 215/40/17 in stock, and last second I changed my mind and got 40. Several people on M-S reported slight rubbing on 45's on big bumps/dips and at full lock, I don't really want to deal with any of that.

They are beefy tho, and look way better than 205/40 on the stock rims, and ride way nicer, and apparently the speedo is off from the factory and this size "fixes" that? I didn't know this, but saw it on M-S.

I was looking at those when I got my tires, curious to see how you like them over the long haul.
My all seasons are not as grippy as I had hoped in the rain and a bit too squealie in the dry.

So far so good, pushed it on a couple turns yesterday and today, they are pretty much silent and break away softly/controllably. I'm going to try to make some time to go hit the twisties for some quality bonding time with her

Yeah, imagine that. I do different things at different times, crazy.

...but seriously, I love driving this thing quickly. The more I push it the more I understand why I love these cars.

My bro has a brand new Rev built MS3 laying around, I just might throw it in for a little bit to "tune it for him"

You can see it in the very pictures I posted above.
Yes.
Stang and Lexus are here to stay for a long time. Wife said, and I quote: "I don't want you to sell the mustang. You love it, I love it, don't sell it".

She's the best.

Cool. Which do you like more? Or are they just totally different.

Totally different, and even if I was to somehow compare, it's not even close. Night and day, the stang is 10x better at everything but the "tossability/nimbleness/toy factor".

And you can't just stay on the throttle in the stang without going absurd speed and likely going to jail or killing yourself. Feels like you're doing 45, then you look down and see 120+

Which have you been picking the keys for when going on a "fun" drive.

I've been trying to figure out if I need another "fun" car. Or if I can live with a boring daily and drive the Miata for fun.

Depends on what "fun" drive I'm doing. Twisties/canyon the Miata wins hands down. Mustang has mechanical grip much like my corvettes did, but doesn't even come close to the "fun" nimble character of the Miata. I mean, that's what we love about these cars in the 1st place, right?

For straight line, or long drives, or going somewhere fancy, the choice is obvious.

You need an FD.

Edit: Wait, you're getting married, right? You need a minivan.

Actually hailey refuses to drive a minivan. So I don't ever have to deal with one of those.

I honestly don't like the rx7 styling. Can't pinpoint it but just not a huge fan.

Well, to be fair, that pic was posted a couple of days ago. You could have bought and sold a couple of cars in that time, the way you go through them.

Wagon4lyfe

This is actually what drew me to the WRX. First choice was actually a much newer Mazda3 hatch but I couldn't find one with a stick.

I tend to think of hatchbacks as wagons, so that might explain some of it.

I drove a 2007 5.4 F250 with manual hubs and transfer case for about 5 years, no desire to do that again. I've got the dentside if I'm feeling like killing people in Prii, otherwise I'm in love with my WRX hatch. Its the right combination of size, utility and fun without being a massive hassle to drive and park.

I HATE my wifes Escape. Mini or crossover SUV things are ******* terrible.
