Ms3x - What am I doing wrong?
Hey, I have got the car running pretty solid before, but I had to revert back to stock for CA smog and then put back all the megasquirt parts and I am getting some really weird issues.
Car was idling at 3000rpm, idle screw all the way in.
Adjusting the IAC valve was making the rpm go down and not up.
Got the idle to about 1300rpm by fidling.
Won't get out of idle VE table.
I believe it was the IAC valve was making a horrible ticking noise at anything besides 0 steps in the output test.
Car is stock, 1990 miata, just has headers.
-BMW tps
-Stock ignition and fuel.
I am nearly 100% sure there are no vacuum leaks or issues with anything as the car was running perfectly fine beforehand. But it almost feels like the car has a vacuum leak.

So if I do the IAC valve test, and have a idle PMW of about 58% and stepper count of 140, it seems to idle right at 900rpm and isn't lean or anything, runs right.
So what does this mean?

So i went back and forth between inverted and normal and I thought it was working once, but it went back to acting up with a 1800rpm idle now. I have a weird feeling it is going full circle.
My question, how do I tune this instead of using the iacv test mode? Is it the idle control duty cycle %?

What are some normal numbers seen for ASE and ASE taper? The car will fire up, die, unless I give it throttle as it fires to bump up the revs to 1.5-2k rpm. Anyway to automatically tune for this?
I've tried reducing cranking pulse width but haven't quite got it yet, any tips?

Okay, so if it is totally open, but my idle is 850rpm, what would that mean?
I've narrowed it down to my closed-loop settings as when I use warmup only, she idles like a champ.
Anybody care to share what settings I should be using>

So something I did not know, the 1.6 cars timing mark on the crank pulley is only a TDC mark?
If true, I have been trying to align this TDC to the 10* BTDC mark. Wtf is wrong with me. Ignorance is killer.
