The hardtop and quarter panel scared me going into this. The hardtop was actually quite easier than I thought, as the radius of the curves isn’t tight until the B Pillar, and by there, the surface area is a lot smaller, so it’s easier to stretch/manhandle the material.

Looks sweet man. Nothing makes your Miata feel like a kart more than painting rainbow road onto it.

Looking good! Is it your first time wrapping a car? My NA was a challenge but once you understand how the vinyl likes to stretch and move, its not so bad.

Just read through you whole thread last night and finishing this morning. Great stuff and answered a lot of question I would have had in the near future. Keep it up!

The pattern is printed on 3M, not Avery like the white. Then, it is laminated, so it doesn't 'breathe' out the bubbles and small wrinkles as quickly/easily, nor does it stretch like single layer color change wrap material. It is a whole different animal. By the time I reached the pink coner on the rear driver's side, I was more familiar, so that corner is perfect, but yes, there is a wrinkle on the 'power bulge'. I probably should have started with the door, or hardtop, but oh well. Luckily, the hood will be covered in "Tarmac 88", Keegan Engineering" class, number, etc.

First time wrapping a whole car, yes. I've only got experience with commercial vehicles and small panels of Supermiata orange on this car previously.

Yeah I didn't mean to take that as offense to you. I'm sure its better than work I could do. Just sucks when product doesn't lay down nicely.

After the solo attempt on the hood, I conned my cousin into swinging by yesterday to help me lay the drivers side as one piece. A second set of hands was absolutely amazing. That giant panel took us about 45 minutes.
Today I’m finishing up the last bits, hardtop, front bumper, wing.

im still undecided on cutting the rear bumper, but I have plenty of material if I want to wrap the whole thing.

Trying to balance the “keeping it clean” with “showing all the love to friends/partners/sponsors/sanctioning body requirements” is hard.

NASA minimum 10”x1.5” numbers are mocked up.

I plan to have a Keegan Engineering across the bottom of the door, the normal “MAZDA” on the qtr panel, Hoosier above the front tire, Tarmac 88 on the door, plus find room for 949 Racing, Supermiata, Xida, Singular, Trackspeed, Gloc and the WeDrIvEHaRdEr nasa stickers.
