Default Showing off pics of my new muffla

This came to me in the mail yesterday. Its the 300-625-17 ultra-light race muffler from Burns Stainless. I've got a few cool things in the mail for my car lately, but this takes the cake. Its functional and looks better then ****. Burns def has some cool **** and soon I'm gonna buy some other stuff for the rest of my 3" exh setup. More pics to come of the entire setup when its done.

A resonator technically doesn't have any sound deadening material inside it, so this would be a muffler. I have heard these are pretty loud (I'm planning on putting it where the stock muffler would be) but if its too loud I may just vband it and have a swappable magnaflow or something.

I'm thinking something like this, tucked up high using 3 of the stock hanger locations... Any other ideas?

I toyed with the idea of getting a long (custom made to order) muffler like this in 3" id to put next to the driveshaft but i think that would've been over the top not to mention lol

Turn downs on cars are not fun, well for street cars anyways. My Dart has turn downs before the rear axle and my Miata is turned down before the rear end. It just makes too much dust, **** is always dirty/dusty. Here is how mine looks, the Magnaflow was too loud, so I left it in place and used a Flowmaster Super 40 series I had lying around. It uses one stock mounting location then it is bolted to the PPF. SO much dust though...
and yes, my shoe lace is untied

for reference, this is my borla xr-1 race muffler. same as how you want to do it, its a 3" turbo back system, no cat, no resonators, just the race muffler which is very similar to what you have just without the burns name and price. i find it to be fine as far as sound, yes its loud but nothing you cant drive on the street. if you are off throttle is perfect.

search "josh miata" or "josh ecb" on youtube to hear it

If you mount it with 90*'s on each side it will quite it down a good bit. It will probably still be loud though if that's the only muffler.

It should have something like that when all said and done. may end up being closer to 45's on each end, but I'd like to terminate at the stock location sorta like ctdrftna's car

I'll be interesting to hear this. My plan for a while has been to use a long coast fab (the company that makes the mufflers for Burns) dual stage along the driveshaft and then v-band there so I can put a turndown for events without a sound restriction or connect the rear section with another muffler (undecided) for the street and quiet events.

If you need to quiet it down, rule of thumb is a 12"+ tip/tube after the muffler.
That's what a spec miata guy did for mine.
