Default Output Test mode - Idle Valve

hi guys my Idle valve seems to be working in reverse? When i went to the output test mode- idle valve when i clicked enable test run and set it to 0 my rpms went from 1100 to 3000, this is with the valve mode in "Normal, 0% = off" shouldnt my rpm stay the same? and only go up when i reach a certain number? (ie 26). Im following this guide to help me set up my idle: Mega Miata: Basic idle settings. and vise versa with the valve mode on "invert" where 100% = off. im trying to get my min/ max pwm % so i can set up the CL idle. Thanks guys!! my car is running a mspnp2 na 1.6 miata.

no. The way the idle valve rotates it can open back up under a certain value.

you're going to find you'll be running your valve between 25-60% PWM.

values outside that range will just cause the valve to open 100%.

i tried to go thru the ranges today and it was really weird, my rpm would stay the same from 0-63 steps and past 63 it would start to drop my rpms till i stall which is about 80ish steps. shouldnt my rpm raise?

Hey, I am also have trouble in idle.
I am sitting at about 600 when my NA likes 850. We know that it's running rich, seeing as how the AFR is at about 11-12.3. I've adjusted the AFR and VE tables, but to no avail. I saw that maybe it might be Accel Enrich issues, but I can't figure it out. How do you adjust the idle position?

The idle valve position is adjusted by changing the idle duty cycle table (in open loop) or idle target table (in closed loop).

Gotcha. Is there anything I should be adjust in the base maps other than that and the fixed timing?

Should I be adjusting Idle cranking Duty step table? Idle Warmup Duty step table? or both?

Cranking duty is for startup, warmup duty is for running.
