Default Hello from the smokey SF Bay area

I guess I'll introduce myself. New Miata owner from Martinez Ca.
1991 clean Smurf with 61k original miles. So far I have been bringing her "up to snuff"
Fluids, brakes, plugs, wires, painting stuff, and my first "upgrade" addition of a shines new Koyo Aluminum radiator.

Been keeping an eye for a 1.8 Torsen diff, axels and shaft....even an open 7" I suppose...
Next inline is a set of coilovers, and some chassis bracing as my 1991 is lacking.

Yeah, yeah, I live in the wrong state, with the wrong motor, but dag nabbit, I want to boost my 1.6, CaliCommy car!
With just 61k miles I have a hard time justifying pulling her for a 1.8. Yeah, I get it that I am giving up lots of cheap power.

I plan on reading up lots more, but initial though is a FM turbo kit due to CARB....:(
I assume, the kit that's good for 160-170 WHP can give more with larger injectors and a Mega, a fairly easy swap every two years w/out the need to completely remove the turbo kit??

My car is a fun, weekend, off day aggressive street cruiser.

Anyways, hello

Hi Brain! I've never seen such a clean stock looking engine bay. Looks like a gem from my perspective!

Sounds like you have some nice plans for it. Definitely get a turbo on this engine, just don't go too crazy. Check the compression to be sure, but I doubt you will find any problems.

I'm new as well btw, check my intro. Good luck with that beauty!

Welcome. I feel like we've met before. I'm in Concord and hosted the Miata meets at iTea Pleasant Hill earlier this year.
If not, then welcome to the forum and I hope we meet soon!

Unless it was not Miata related, I don't believe we have met, though I'd love to get with a local miata meetup!
Thanks! Ok, back to pulling the intake on my other 91. Ugg
