So far nothing substantial. I guess that this is just a jab your members, either that or I am not getting you idea of jokes. My original question (which has not been address yet) was simply wondering why the vote for turbos vs sc. It seems simple to me. There are no stupid questions? Well this is true if one allows themselves to read through all the jiberish first.

From dynos of well-tuned turbo and SC miatas, we can see that a SC has an advantage from 1800 to 2200 RPM. If you live between 1800 and 2200, a SC is what you want.

If you drive like a normal person, a turbo will outperform a SC.

And for FSM sake, do some reading on turbo lag, this isn't the goddamn 1980s anymore. There ARE stupid questions, like the ones you are asking which have been beaten to death even in this very thread that you clearly haven't read. So stop asking them.

Well this is miataTURBO.net, if we liked superchargers it would be called miataSUPERCHARGER.net. Nuge pretty much covered it, with modern turbos, lag is minimal, and with a small sized turbos the boost threshold is so low that super chargers only have a power advantage in the rpms where the engine is lugging.

Goose this site has everything you will ever want to know about miatas. 90% of it is written down, waiting for you to read. When you need that last 10%, that's when you start asking questions.

I'm rather fond of them, but every time I post my setup, people seem to complain that that's the only SC setup ever "done right" in the history of Miatadom, or something. Shrugz.

Just converted my fuel system over to take E85. Ready to bump my power numbers by a healthy bit...

You have how much money in your setup by now? Yeah, that's why.
Also how many SC miata's you know making over 300whp?

Just so you don't start crying again though, I am personally running a MP62 coldside on my car RIGHT NOW just to see what its like

There's no easy button for an intercooled S/C setup, so no one does it. Most people suck at working on cars and if it doesn't bolt together with step by step instructions they don't do it. That's fine and all, but it is what it is.

My kit is still about the same expense as a proper (read: non-greddy) turbo kit. Custom intake manifold was 600$, supercharger was 2000$, intercooler was 100$, custom piping/fab for the intake was ~300$.

The built motor, engine management, and exhaust are the same exact sort of thing you'd use on a turbo setup. The expensive parts of my car are not specific to a quality supercharger build.

$400 for the manifold including coating, welding rod, gas and sawsall blades, $1450 for the turbo, $150 for ic and piping, intake was random parts already sitting around, $200 between the oil and water fittings that are on the car or didnt end up working out . DP and exhaust added another $500 (because there's like $150 worth of vbands in there).

You're not helping your case here when you did all of the work yourself and still ended up at 2k of costs before ancillaries, only 1k less than my setup. For that thousand bucks, I'd take an SC over a turbo any day.

You did say your setup was the same cost as a proper, non-greddy turbo setup. I'm not going to argue which is better since we both have very one off setups with boost producing units that are the pinnacle of their the current respective tech. I'm limited by my 5 speed in the power department, but as long as you're over 3k rpm, the delay between the foot and the torque feels the same as my old M62 air to water in the manifold setup, even on just the wastegate.
