So I figured I may as well make my confession here. Hoping that most of MT.net won't notice and realize this horrible mistake.
Either way it's done. It was cheap. Now time to invest in belts.
I wanted to add a bit of power to the miata. By a bit, I mean get her up to 150-160whp.
I picked up an M45 that was pretty well sorted. Most of the bits and pieces were there. It has the big boost crank overlay, but it's not on yet. So I don't think I will quite reach my power goals in it's current form. I've also got a DDMWorks intake which is actually a really nice piece. And should at least help keep the IATs in check.
I'm waiting to install the overlay for when I have a MS. Right now I have a voodoo box and a timing controller (which is oddly in the same case as a ms).
I literally just got it going tonight, and I still need to install the aids. I'm collecting parts for a dual TB set up since I see an IC in my future if I use the crank overlay.
There was no way to go turbo for this price. Worse case I hate it and sell it at some point down the road. Anywhoooo what's done is done. I'll probably have to use M.net or CR.net more now which sucks. BUt not like I've been around here that much either.
TL;DR I got a supercharger. Standby for more info.

lol. That is probably a good way of putting it. I've owned two FM turbo'd miatas, so there is a little "hate myself" from the start. But less hate myself than driving around stock.

I think Dann said it very well.
I have a very similar version: you wont hate it, but you wont love it.
And don't ever drive a turbo 01+ or it will definitely make you hate your thupercharger thetup and thell it right away

Hah. Well I think at some point way down the line, I'll go big turbo. But I needed something to hold me over for the next few years.

Bragged? Just said for the price I couldn't go turbo. At least not the way I wanted. Driving it today gave me the same amount of joy as the FM turbo kit I had on my 97'. I'm in no way saying it's on equal grounds as an FM kit, or even a cheap turbo build for that matter. Just saying it's a blast to drive.
Well yeah: anything is a blast to drive compared to stock.
Its cool though, I can't say I haven't considered doing something like this myself before ( rocking a failcharger til I had the time and energy to put together a proper setup ). I think the biggest thing that stopped me was the amount of effort needed to do the whole shebang, and for just a little more I could have what I really want, so I just keep driving it stock and waiting for the day my setup goes onto the car.
Get some vids for us.
For the lulz

I'd DD a roots miata. I don't think I'd go as far as purchasing a kit and installing it, but if it came that why I wouldn't bother removing and would prefer it over stock.
I would not DD a rotrex.

I'd rock the **** out of a nasty M62 setup. There's an NA for sale in NJ right now that's making some no-bullshit power on an M62.
If i were to buy it, i wouldn't change a damn thing.
