Air ride on a miata?
Beaters are cheap. But good ones are definitely climbing in price. I bought mine (for my oldest daughter, not for me) in 2002 for $3200. A similar example now would be much more.

This actually reminds me of the sort of which which started happening in the VW scene in the mid 80s, when people started doing really hideous and impractical things to Bugs and Ghias in the name of "style".
Partially as a result of this, there exists today a tremendous scarcity of unmolested T1s in the world.
I was reminded of this by seeing a really nice, clean Ghia cabrio at lunch today, and thinking to myself "Wow, now there's a rare sight!"
Endangered species (nearly extinct in the wild):
Conservation-dependent species (population steadily declining in the wild):

Had a 72 Coupe for a while till mom found out that it didn't have seat belts..... she was pissed haha.
