His smokescreen will clear up sooner or later. If they dont get out soon the forums will shut him down completely..

Didn't I just say that?

fairly certain you followed that post with calling brain "merely prominent"!

I just don't care anymore. Even if I were to get the product for free, I'd rather just slap on my teins and be done with it at this point.

BenR 02-10-2011 04:20 PM

I'm a no name, thats consistently 2+ seconds under the spec miata record for my track. I'm currently on ancient kyb agx with first gen fm springs, and wouldn't test these DGRs if they were free.

That was posted January 26th.

The day before, Joe posts he had taken over the account.

Unless that's Russ till using the Chaser account. Most of his M.net stuff was posted well before that. His first DGR account posts on M.net started on Jan 30th.

Been down that road, I don't take free parts unless there's an openly disclosed paycheck involved.

I'll have to go back and check..but that's not my recollection or intent.

My understanding is that the guy wants to have some others look into and evaluate his product. Having some hellaflusher who might be prominent on CR try things out is not the same as having someone like Stewart or a racer with a clue doing the same. I know that Brain races and…has a really huge Brain. For one thing, at least some dynos done by Koni will be available soon, that will help get a sense of things as it did with Raceland. Besides that, I'd prefer to see a few sets dynoed to get a sense of consistency. Hopefully they'll at least do 2 fronts and 2 rears at a minimum.

Appy-polly-loggies Brain if y8s's reaction or concern was yours too.

I'm almost tempted to see if he'd send me a set to compare to my Ohlins :giggle:
I don't think I'd take the Ohlins off my car, but install them on my GF's MSM and use her car for AutoX and compare them to how my car feels. Should I ?

Shock dynos have been posted:

Surprise! They're chinadampers so the adjusters don't do shit.

Full-stiff DGR looks pretty good, time for a heavy spring. This guy might have a decent shock for poor people.

What is the bad news about chaser aero?

Guys, I got some updates for you...

As you know, I had a set of shocks dynoed recently. I wanted to pass these along to you. I've talked to a technical guy here, so I know exactlywhat I'm looking at.

First thing I want to point you to is the Damper vs. Rebound. As you can see (below 0 line) the main rate of change comes from the rebound side. Not a ton of adjustment on the damper side. The one thing you'll see is the shock is erring towards the side of comfort and matched pretty well to the spring rate.

Jason at Koni said this shock is definitely going to work well for a guy that daily drives his Miata, but likes to do spirited driving. If you are building a track car and you need to shave 0.010 seconds off your lap time, you'll be disappointed.

BUT it doesn't end there. I want to improve the track set up. I've sent over some information to my factory and told them the R&D guys need to take this back and play with this more. Seeing 0-20-25-30 as the adjustment points. Just a 4-way adjustment. Unless 1-19 give a drastic change, those points are useless. Its going to take me some time to get a true track ready system. I wont accept the factory getting this done in 1 month. I want a shock, test it, change it, rinse, lather, repeat. I'm not going to release it until it's right.

In closing, I'm not trying to push a revolutionary new product that's going to set the world on fire. My goal is to help you improve the feel of your street car, with out breaking the bank.

Let's discuss, let's please keep it civil. I'd like for this discussion to keep this technical and see how we can make this better for the track guys. I'm here to help...

I'm going to add some content as we go, as needed...
