Is the RX7 FD torsen interchangeable in the miata diff?

 

For comparison- Fbody guys are pushing 300-350HP through the factory 7.5 inch rear end. An 8.8 is plenty strong enough.

 

With the rest of the parts involved mentioned above...

im thinking of try to put a mitsubishi starion rear in, they all come factory lsd, 3.42 gearing, if i remember right its a 8" ring, the 4 bolt rears hold 400rwhp easy, and 6 bolts, well, you break axles before the rear

 

If you want something strong and looks like a whale dong, just pick up an S4 TII diff. It also semi-bolts in.

 

seems like it would be same fab work
i guess in my case it comes down to availability of parts
i dont know where any TII diffs are, where as i know where 4 starion parts cars are

 

Rear batwing bolts into stock location. They are all over the place on rx7club.

 

what gearing is in those?

Or 3.9 Chp, I have a built 3.9 RX7 rear waiting to go in an RX7 in my garage.

 

The S4 TII came with 3.9's as an option?

 

well sorry for not looking for something i didnt want
i want high gearing, 4.10 is not that of which i want, another reason i was looking at the mitsubishi diff. dont have to be a complete *** about it

 

Do your PITA diff swap then. I was offering an easier idea if you liked having the donkey dong diff hanging under your car. You haven't seen me being an ***... yet.
