WTF is the thing attached to the end of the shock? Doesn't look like a stock part of the upper mount.

It's the part of the assembly that's supposed to go below the upper mount, thus holding the whole assembly together. His shock rods are just poking through the upper mounts, not really connected to anything.

Not sure how Mythbusters comes into play.

I hope the guy doesn't install "stop leak" into his oil pan for poor compression.

I mean couldn't the person possibly figure out that he did something wrong when he installed the shocks and tightened down the shock rod nut?

Ah. For some reason the clip of Tory's faceplant didn't load when I was viewing this at work.

You know, for all its procedural and scientific inaccuracy, I love that show. When the hell are we going to see some new episodes?

Oh I understand the function, but is it part of the GC kit for NB or is it part of the NB stock upper mount?

I've never had an NB apart.

Maybe I should start browsing m.net again, I could at least get some good laughs from the epic failures. That's exactly how my Land Rover Disco was when the shock bushings went out, you could open the hood, bounce the car, and watch the top of the shocks just sit still.
