Default Help needed ASAP, car wont select !st, 3rd, 5th

As the title says the car is going to be dyno'd in the morning, over here in Ireland its 3.30am, so really pushed on time!

Gearbox was taken off to fit clutch, put back on, fluid changed, and now I can only select 2nd 4th and reverse??

Took out the shifter to find the small plastic ball that sits over the end is missing.
But I tried to select the gears using a screw driver, fine into 2nd 4th etc, but no way of getting it into 1st 3rd.

As I said, going to be dyno'd in a matter of hours, so looks like 2nd and 4th will be used.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I really need to sort this ASAP!

Find the plastic bushing would be best bet, or see if you can borrow one.

You figured it out on your own. Without that bushing you're not going to select gears
Without a fight.

Also um BTW don't forget to break in your clutch before you dyno.

I accidentally put a shifter in once without the plastic bushing, you should be able to use all gears but there will be alot of play and ambiguity in shifting. I went for a drive this way and thought there was a problem until I pulled the shifter and saw the lack of bushing.

Don't glaze the new clutch.

Found the problem, I knew it wasnt the fact the the ball wasnt on it, as that would make the lever slopy but it would still select the gears.

The problem was the little ball had fallen down into the box, and was stopping the shifter from going back to select 1st, 3rd and 5th! Thank god it was something simple!
