1st gen FM springs too short?
I just installed a set of 1st gen FM springs on my Konis. I have FCM mounts and bumpstops also. The springs are loose enough to move around. I didn't even need to compress them to put the mounts on.
It doesn't take much pressure to move the mount down to the top of the spring. It is maybe 4-6mm away. Is this normal? I'm going to try putting it in to see if the suspension is tight enough to simply hold them together.
EDIT: The Konis are on the highest perch as per the FCM instructions. I would call Shaikh, but I think the springs are the problem not the mounts.

I went and put everything together. I made sure to torque the bolts under load and to proper spec. The springs are tight when in the air, but when I put the wheel on it sags a 1-2mm. It's not enough to come out of the perches like before, so I'm ok with it.
The car looks GOOD. I can't wait to see how it handles.

It does make sense, but i was afraid of it before I installed them. The spring could come out of the perches. I was afraid of the car being able to move enough to let the spring come out. After installing it I see that is not possible.
Thanks for letting me know its ok though.

Think about it. You are going to a much shorter spring, it's no surprise that under full droop you run out of spring. That's why you see some coilovers with helper springs.
My GC/AGX setup does the same thing, I've never had a problem since I don't often get the car airborn.

Thanks to The_pipefather my car runs! He managed to sort out the MS, so I got to take it for a drive. I will be taking pictures tommorow of how it sits. I'm sure everyone is bored of seeing it sitting in my driveway, so I will go find some decent looking spot. I love the stance it has.
With the FCM mounts and bumpstops I have all the travel I will ever need. That being said I doubt the springs even compress...they are STIFF. It's ok though, I like it that way.
