That is a thread, not a forum. Look at the forum. There has been multiple discussions about Konis. Recently. You could have found them by now if you weren't spending time arguing for spoon-feeding in this thread.

Maybe Bilsteins will be in stock by the time you finish reading 78 pages of great information.

My issue is this: I'm a ******* noob. I know nothing about miata suspension except the rear replacement took me at least 2 hours and i rounded a nut because ******* rust.
What suspension interchanges? What's the exact car you have to say you have to be able to get the correct part numbers for the shocks? Do all NA and NB shocks just bolt right up to each other? What's the deal with MSM bilsteins? Do I just go to summit and go to B6/B8? what spring rates do I need for a street car? there's people in the first few pages running everything from 300's to 700's. As a noob, the whole custom bilstein thing is quite overwhelming as there's literally 1000 options you can have. these front springs, these rear springs, these perches, these OEM bilsteins vs these OEM bilsteins. Seems like a more die hard "I need my car to be exactly how I want it" way to do things...

On my other car, suspension is cake. There's only 1 good spring for the platform and I have it, track tested. OEM shocks and struts are fine with the springs, though I run koni rears because I don't feel like hacking and rewelding my front struts for inserts. Guess what? It's progressive rate and costs far less than BC coilovers, so I understand the whole springs on good shocks for a budget thing. But the miata is so open, so many options. and no one here seems to have any other answer except build your own, which for someone who has owned the car for 2 months, seems a little excessive. I'm just looking for a plug and play solution that's better than stock from 1992 suspension for less than $1000...

Oh you have lots of questions about Bilsteins? I wonder where you could find that information.

I read, but not that fast. I'm learning. But still seems overcomplicated. x spring y sleeve... and still no mention of spring rates for a street car that may see autox once in a couple years.

wow that's crazy, so it's not spelled out to the last comma for your exact car, year, mileage, your exact situation, your area, your butt sensitivity, your girlfriends butt sensitivity, and every pothole and racetrack you'll ever encounter?

well dang, the info is basically inapplicable then.

go with the vmaxx ultimo riceland meisterR type R OBx

That exact criteria is listed easily 100x in that thread. Easily. Maybe with slightly varying recommendations, so you get to make some informed decisions with the information you've gathered from that thread.

Or just buy something else that comes in whatever color you like.

PRO TIP- When you look at threads that are 100 pages, skip to dates more recent. things evolve. dont read pages 1-10 from 2013 and then tell us that the stuff doesn't make sense. read from 2015 - current posts. If you want to know the evolution entirely, then start at page 1

stupidest question time?
Bilstein shock body is 50mm? 2.5" coilover sleeve would be 2.5" OD or 2.5" ID? 2.5" is 63mm.

I'm learning. ruling out oem bilsteins because b8's are cheaper and available.
Bilstein B8's (for NB: BSN-24-065511 BSN-24-065504)
Allstar Performance Sleeves 5" because they aren't ebay and they have better threads and seating against the C clip thing
500/300? QA1 Summit springs. 7"
some bumpstops i haven't gotten that far yet

I'm on earlier pages. because that's where the information is. the newer pages has incremental updates. flipping ahead.

How did I do so far? 550/375 because they didn't have 350 and I don't want the front to be too close to the back.
ADDED TORRINGTON BEARINGS, i didn't forget about them sly bastards.

Getting there. Keep reading til you find bumpstops and spring isolator part numbers. Then take note if the extended top hats you end up buying come with isolators or not.

Don't know what top hats you want/need? Keep reading and find out!

Admittedly though, that's some progress. People usually start to become aggressively defensive after some flaming, impressed the PO did not. Curious to see the outcome, move on please.

more dumb questions:
Extended top hats move the whole assembly up, so that basically lowers your car without touching the spring or perch, so why does that affect bump stop? since you're just moving the whole assembly up, it should be no different than using NB top hats and just having the car a little lower adjusted on the perch no?
I'm learning. I try. I needed a reason to read through the huge thread and I'm all about this forum thing. Forums will forever be informative and educate people. Facebook is a **** show and consists of people doing basically what I did in the first post with way less effort.
