Default Torsen: clean out debris?

Did a quick search, but I did not find an answer. I bought a used Torsen which arrived today, but the diff was not wrapped very well during shipping. I can see some small rust scale from the outside that got knocked into the gears. Would it be safe to run the entire diff through a vertical parts washer that I have access too? I'm concerned that solvent and/or the water in the mix would be caustic to the bearings. The washer allows parts to sit on a rack and it sprays from the bottom and sides (industrial dishwasher), so the items are not submerged.

Or skip the parts washer, and use a couple of cans of brake parts cleaner? Or am I missing a better method to remove small debris?

Thank you,

Josh

I was recently searching this and found this thread.

I'm probably going with the degreaser/power wash option and a cheap fluid change after a few miles.

If it were me, I’d just run it for a few hundred miles then change the oil.

Thank you both for the input, and the link helped also.

I would not dunk it in a solvent tank. I would spray it out with some brake cleaner, then change the fluid after a few hundred miles.
