we've gotten good at "sign language"... for the basics...

you know, the classics like, "i have to pee," "feed me," "i'm sick of driving - it's your turn," "what are your thoughts on the current domestic economic climate?"

you know... basics.

The signs for "eff this" and "kill me" are not unknown to me. Good luck, guys.

Just do the k swap and the 6 speed... and drive the car. Then if the gears are too short for your liking, swap them to something taller. At this point you're just guessing it's going to be a problem rather than putting the car together and driving it to see if there is a problem.

Lol, maybe cause they’re not running long enough, but we’ve spent k-money on our ecotec and have gone through 3 5-speeds, only one of which was questionable to begin with. We end up loosing all but fourth, but we can’t get into 4th till we stop, and we’ve finished two races like that. Last one I took apart had a few damaged gears and a snapped “lay shaft”? Had to google that.

Were trying a built 5-speed with a studded case and a cooler as a last ditch effort, but 180hp/180ftlbs is definitely enough to break them, just start with a 6-speed and a 4.1. You’ll know real quick if a 3.9 is a better choice, but that’s building a race car for you, build, break, fix, repeat.
