ive been driving on the highway more often for school and driving at higher speeds i dont like the feel of my stopping power.
what are my options for getting more bite/better braking?
Would simply changing the pads be good enough?
what kind of calipers can i swap from other cars that will be a boost in performance from the stock 1.8 setup.
i dont want to spend alot of money on brand new brake kits because im not gona track this car.

right?! i mean we all have the same goal, just keep driving!
also, i hate advisory signs on highways, they cause more traffic than anything else.
next to you are in traffic, ask yourself, "is there a road sign up ahead"
when you pass the sign that simply says something like "traffic ahead" suddenly, there is no longer traffic.

about 1.5 months ago i had a leak in the right rear caliper. replaced it and bleed the entire system. the pads im assuming are stock pads but they have enough left to not need replacing.
New mazda pads and stainless brake lines might give you what you want. The stock pads will lock up the wheels without any trouble, and the stainless lines should firm up the pedal a little. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure.
The op needs to know to do the bedding-in process with great attention to detail. Do not deviate from the directions about proper cooldown IMMEDIATELY after getting them bedded-in.
Definitely. I thought my HP+ were bedded in, then I went to Laguna Seca and they started smoking. Now they are considerably noisier than ever.
