Track crew: GB feeler for 11.75" rotor bracket for Wilwood Dynalite calipers

An 11.75” Dynalite kit requires 13.96” Id on the wheel by the caliper to clear.
An 11.75” Radial mount Dynapro kit requires only 13.44” Id on the wheel to clear.
I know there are some wheels that will clear the Dynapro and not the Dynalite when used with an 11.75” rotor. Kosi K1’s I know for sure. I wedged a bolt kicked up off the track at Laguna between the caliper and rim and nearly sawed a 949 wheel in two so I know it is tight. I am now thinking the Dynalight will be dam tight compared to my Radial Dynapro setup.
The Radial Dynapro calipers fit tighter to the rotor in the radial direction allowing bigger rotors to be stuffed in smaller wheels. They are likely to have less spoke clearance because they use thicker pads though.

One thing I looked up again. If you look at the wheel clearance envelopes for the different brake kits in the PDF’s on the willwood site.

Has anyone contacted Emillio about the deflection his models had when subjected to forces? I'm not saying the spokes do or don't deflect 6mm, but I'd think it'd be topical to clearance issues such as this.
Actually... I'll send him an email, see what he thinks.

Well after that tid-bit, do we need to know who's still in for the lug mount brackets? I am still gtg. I have a set of K1s and will likely go with the dynapros - they're also on 20mm spacers which may/maynot buy me some clearance.

But then again I don't know which hats Savignton is using they could have a different offset. The Mini hats have about as much offset pushing the rotors towards the knuckle as will work without hitting the tie rod ends. I think there was about 3mm clearance there. If the mini hats had Miata center bore size they would be perfect.

It would take me a long time to make up the cost of radial Dynapros ($400) in pad life (50% pad life increase = $30 discount per set, 13 sets of pads, 5 track days a set, 60 track days), so I'm just not interested in switching calipers at this point.

The 11.75x.81 size rotor 'babk' has been used on the fwd sr20 cars for almost a decade with great success. There is a proven list of wheels that fit which might be a good starting point for the miata fitment with the same brake setup. Here it is:

That could be a problem. I measure the Corrado rotors as having a .4875" offset and a .2" face thickness. The Mini rotors are much closer to the tie rods than Corrados. and there is not allot of spoke clearance to the caliper for less offset on the hat unless you run wheel spacers with the 11.75 rotors.

Update, R&D rotor arrived today. 15x9 +36 6UL clearance confirmed with SIGNIFICANTLY more spoke clearance than our old Corrado setup. Bolting up to a 15x8 +36 in a moment.
e: 15x8 +36 clearance confirmed. 15x8 +40 guys, it's going to be really tight. Plenty of spoke clearance but the bell of the wheel will be very close to the caliper, too close for my comfort. It's probably possible but I'd prefer to see a ~4mm spacer being used. I will try and get a real +40 wheel in my hands to check clearance.
