Can you stop posting and adding nothing of substance to this thread? Why are you even here? You can cry "banhammer" all you want, but I've broken no rules and you're the only one in here making unfounded attacks.

I guess it's neat to see the torches and pitch-forks aren't limited to Trackable Miatas.

Neg cats are my favorite feature of MT.net.

Back to the issue at hand, Keith from FM has posted that they know about 17 ND 6UL wheels that have cracked. That kinda sorta indicates this just might kinda sorta be an issue, maybe. I do think Keith and FM is acting in an appropriate manner concerning the issue. I also think Emilio is behind the curve in how he's approached the issues.

Since speculation is big in this thread, I’m going to speculate that Emilio is acting (or not acting) at the advice of his attorneys. Which would be the smart thing to do in this scenario. He put out that e-mail and website update, and I think we’re supposed to take that as his definitive response.

Never go full retard.

I find it interesting that people think they have some sort of right to be here and to be heard. They don't realize this is like a group of guys hanging out at a cocktail party or at a bar chatting about car stuff. If you are an outsider to the group and you don't have anything on topic to add or your attitude isn't conducive to conversation or you are pushing misinformation without contemplating alternatives you might be ignored, shunned, asked to pipe down, or forced to leave. Or you could be banned for no reason at all. None.

Someone has to clean up this thread now. Thanks to Mat for coining the name Dietcock, which I blatantly stole without giving credit.

Excellent perspective and analogy on the forum. Why I keep telling Noobs to post in the Meet and Greet, and ignore those who only post on a single topic.

Just to add some education to the thread.. Konig has a nice video/explanation about how flow forming works. Essentially the wheel is low pressure cast in a "near net" shape, and then drawn over a heated mandrel to expand the barrel to the final shape. To call the center cast and the barrel flow formed is misleading as well, since the whole thing is cast, and then the spokes get stretched as well as the barrel.

I don't see the spokes having anything done to them in that video. It's just working and stretching the barrel. Cast spokes are cast and that is it.

Unfortunately that applies to most marketing blurbs, more hype than substance. Although flow formed barrels seem fairly strong.

Oops, my misunderstanding - I thought the diameter increased as well as the width. Looks like just the barrel width.

FF wheels still seem to bend easily (or maybe it's my driving?). But they are light!

Actually bending is preferred to cracking.

I've been to some track events where guys have run 6UL wheels. I've never seen one fail. I've also never seen another wheel fail. Maybe some have cracked and I'm not aware of it. So, from my own experience, 6UL's have a perfect track record.

Would you say that their track record speaks for itself?
