Got my set last night and scrambled them onto some 15x10s. At Thunderhill today. Did a back to back with a sticker 245/40 rc1 for a benchmark. The RS4 feels faster by a solid margin. Hard to say how much exactly because there's too much wind and traffic today but I'd estimate about a second or so faster. Lots more lateral and exit grip in particular. No odd wear patterns. I won't put enough time on them to know whether they wear like a super200 but they are definitely in that ballpark as far as speed goes.

The one time I'm disappointed to see a tire have lots of grip. Fingers still crossed for magic wear but if it's that sticky I'm having doubts.

Jebus. Previous lack of 245 sized Super200's gave the RC1 a reason to be considered for 10's. That's out the window.

Sav,
Do the seem to run "wider" than labeled. To me the old RS3 always seemed more narrow than similar sized BFG-s. (at least in the 225).

(All these new tires an my car has been down since November with electrical problems grrrr)

We measured at the tread of the 245 RS4 exactly the same as the 245 RC1. The Nexen Sur4 on the other hand, is slightly wider than all the other tires except Hoosiers.

Holy crap! Do you think they will wear better than the RC-1?

I mean one of them is a 40 treadwear, the other is 200. Can they be both be off by > a factor of 2?

Can't answer the question because it's based on a false premise (that treadwear ratings are linked to race tire life).

Fully expecting Super200 wear rates (aka nearly Hoosier wear rate and nearly same drop-off after 50% life). The future for those who want actual street tires isn't going to be in the 200tw category.

Yeah, I'm ok with that if they can take a 30 min. W2W beating.

My test data says 300tw PS4S and Conti Sport are where 200tw tires were five years ago.

Hell yeah! That means the Conti Sports will be a great replacement for my old RE11's then!
