Hankook RS-4
Saw that, that was on a small wheel width, we will have a x8 on a car that has more power and is substantially faster than 2:17s at that track. Can't hurt to have data vs another front running tire one the same size wheel on the same car same track
Meant to test these last weekend at Road Atlanta with Randy Pobst in the car, VR1s didn't die after day 1 like I had planned (used) so we never mounted the RS4s for day 2. We will have a back to back in the V6 enduro Miata in May from Road America running the KINK!
Having way more power than a standard Miata tends to change that
Reminds me of the first time I went flat over the T1 crest at Laguna Seca in Deviate with 300whp. Caught a teeny bit of air while turning with a whiff of wheelspin turning the car a bit. Skeet!
Learned that T1 was actually a "turn" when you have a bit of power. Thing3's NB is probably in the 250whp neighborhood.

My buddies at GWR Racing (competitive ChumpCar E30 team) have been running them for two weekends, at a Gingerman track day and Mid-Ohio race. They placed 2nd overall at Mid-Ohio on them, which looks like they set the Mid-Ohio ChumpCar lap record for a non-EC car. I don't believe they have run Mid-Ohio for a race before, so no good back-to-back lap times comparing to the Maxxis VR1's they used to run (I'm sure they have track day lap times, but I'm not sure). It sounds like they are a smidge faster than VR1's and wear much much better. Their car is very rough on tires, and would use multiple sets of VR1's during a 24 hour race. They currently have 13 hours on their set, and estimate that they could get another 7 hour race out of them. They noted that there was no falling off in performance at any point in the race, and they just take all the heat no problem.
Calabogie Motorsport Park. 225/45 RS3 VS RS4. on 9's. 200 ish whp/caged/2300 ish lb. 2nd day there.
2016, RS3- @10 hrs/7-8 HC., 32PSI high 2:27's . 189km/hr vmax
2017 RS4's. @ 8 hrs./5-6 HC 32PSI low 2:25's. 191 km/hr vmax
For reference, 2017 morning session 205/50 TROFEO R's. on 9's. @4 hrs. low 2:27's. 195km/hr vmax.(LR corded outside @5 hrs. weird.)
Not worth discussing trofeo r, don't want to clutter up the thread. RS4 feels like an RS3 but does everything better. very precise, driveable/forgiving at and past the limit. wear seems a bit better than RS3's. 30 min. sessions, absolutely no drop off. they definitely need a lap to warm up, however.
I'm very relieved and impressed,

Just did a two driver autocross event this weekend and re-confirmed my previous experience, these tires rock and take the heat well. We did 12 back to back autocross runs (~75 seconds each) and they never dropped off. Wearing like iron too!
