With that said a VR1 in a 245 might start to hook that power level in 3rd gear or at 80+ mph. Honestly you need a stickier tire and I wouldn't dream of a 225.
agreed. 2 generations of sticky 140tw tires ago like the rs3 don’t even hook up in 2nd on like 6psi from a decent sized turbo. The lack of 275+ street tires that fit na/nb Miata is the 2nd reason I give as to why I’m never buying another one.

Ehh we have the AR1 in 275's and now the 285/30/15 P1, there's even a 305/30 P1. Haven't tested the P1 yet but expect great things even at 500whp. A 245 CRS will do pretty darn well too once you have a little heat in them.

I had to google those, is vitour like legit? I only know them as the brand you typically find on beat up mid 2000s “muscle” cars because they’re cheap and have worse grip than most all seasons while also wearing like a high performance tire.

There's a bunch of hoopla around them that got them banned from most 200tw classes over fears that they're too fast and really a 100tw tire. But as far as performance yeah they're super legit, Ao52 levels of grip but available in man sizes

What’s the best size recommendation for 15x8 on the street with a V8 (300-400hp) in an Exocet chassis? I planned on 245/40 but it seems like everyone here goes with 9 or 10 wide, I’m from the muscle car world where 245 and 8’s go well together. Is it worth sizing down to a 225/45 or would the power level dictate staying 245/40?
I think you would get better responses if you started a new thread with that question. This thread is about a new tire release from like 10 years ago.
