Yeah, we had 13x7 keisers with the 4L centers on the fsae car, damn things wouldnt hold air to save their lives. After making the freshman scrape them and clean them for 2 weeks and set everything up perfectly we got them to at least last a month without going flat.

I did talk to Jim Simpson Today, sounds like he would still make them if sombody called and asked.

If yours are welded and not bolted and/or were assembled by people who actually know what they're doing rather than college students at 4am you're probably going to be fine.

Way back when I did formula SAE back in the late 80's early 90's we had a rough time getting 3 piece wheels to seal as well. We ended up designing and manufacturing our own 1 peace carbon fiber wheels. seems like they weighd about 4.5 lbs in a 13X7. I think we were the first ones to actually do it. University of Texas at Arlington FSAE 1988-1994.

Wow, I just realized we may have met previously. I think we took UTSA's first FSAE car there in 1994. We were pitted a couple of spots down, across the paddock road from UT Austin.

Wait, never mind, we were there in 1995. UT Arlington won that year.

Anyhow, those wheels are great Bob. Nicely done. Now I want a set. Bonus points BTW for the Nigel reference.

UT Arlington Won a lot over the years. I think they still hold the winningest record over the history of Formula SAE competition. I definitely learned a lot from the program.

Congrats on SSM win at packwood. How did the 11s feel?

Awesome! Easier to drive at the limit with the 11's. It's the same thing I've felt many times. wider wheels = better response behavior and more control crossing over the traction limit. I've been doing pretty good this year. 6 out of 8 events I have been overall top PAX at regional events. My co driver had an off weekend he is normally much closer to me than that. I was hoping he could fight for second. Maybe it’s time I go to Lincoln. I wished SSM ran on Tuesday Wednesday this year instead of Thursday Friday otherwise I might have given it a shot this year. As it is I’m going to Laguna for the big shin-dig instead. Still got some NASA TT’s to do as well. Convert to TT configuration after the Pro next weekend. I’m not quite as consistant at Pro’s seems like I’m the only top competitor doing it without launch control and traction control I do pretty well on course but they are short. I just don’t find getting into an arms race to get the car to go the first 60 feet faster as being that exciting.

$3000 about by the time you add sensors. Id rather spend money of a transmission that meets my wants at this point.

Great news! As I suspected. Our new wheels arrived but we've been focusing on the club racing car trying to get it ready to race this coming weekend but that race was cancelled. We may try to autox the BSP car instead.

When the system is 1100-1200 dollars depending on the exchange rate....how can you get the whole setup on a car for $750? Unless you are talking about buying a "pig in a poke" used system.

Damit I may focus on autocross next year. I think I can make the car a bit better yet and my driving skill and ability is coming up lately. do a few other NT events and the final. It will totally screw up my desire to also drive track stuff is a major draw back for me though.
