For daily driving they arent too bad. If you track a lot you might want other makes besides xxrs, rotas, excel, etc.. etc.. I have xxrs 962 on my MR2 & they are like anchors, but the V6 does well with them & its really stable around corners & just driving in general. They wouldn't be good for 1/4 or tracking cause they're too heavy.

I love the sportmax look. I know they are cheap, heavy fake-splitty things and the zero-offset 002's ruin the stock handling somewhat but I think they look great! I cant help myself. I'm in the UK so after shipping they are'nt so cheap anymore but there are a few hardcore sportmax'ists running them over here.

There is nothing wrong with running XXR/Sportmaxx's. The car God's won't smite you for running them, the only reason people don't like them is because they're heavy. But they are inexpensive which is why everyone has them. They aren't going to fall apart or spontaiously combust, you're just not reducing the unsprung weight like you would like to with a set of aftermarket wheels..

The guys that manufacture XXr/Sportmax also manufacture a bunch of Original Equipment wheels for large (largest) auto manufacturers.
Their stuff is VIA and JWL approved too. Their wheels are perfectly safe.
It cracks me up when I read people saying "they tend to crack/break/combust under track use blah blah etc".
The fact is, all wheels will fail under repeated heavy use and abuse. Wheels fatigue and have a lifespan. They are a wear item.
The lifespan difference between a much more expensive (and awesome) Volk or Enkei and a more accessible well-engineered wheel like a XXR is negligible under daily driving conditions.

would i get sport maxx. no i think they are ugly and have horrible offset.
Do i have rotas as DD wheels Yes. Would I track them? Yes.
All the talk about wheels cracking and breaking, well guess what even 6uls can bend and crack if you hit something on track. I'm not going to argue quality or production runs but if you do a search you can find any wheel broken. The famous "broken" rota wheel, if I remember correctly, came from a guy that went through gravel and hit something.
what do I track now.
Factory 15x6. Why because I have two sets and I could care less if they get damaged.
I'd rather throwaway a wheel if I have to, than cry about a $300~400 wheel

I only read the first page but...
XXR are fine, I don't understand the hate. They are trendy, and they are kind of heavy for what you get, but at least they're cheap.
and wow, that RPF-01 looks like it got dominated by a brake caliper. I'm thinking something came loose and the wheel fell off and got stuck, or a caliper fell off.

Awesome. I am going to get these XXRs for my Forester because they look fragile.
