What do you mean? Just take it off because it connects the head and block? I have yet to encounter that. I'm still in tear down right now.

Did the job. Turns out the turbo is blown... I now need a 16g dsm turbo. Let me know if anyone has one lying around.

If you want to drive to Chicago, I have a 1.6 motor here (oil pan already tapped though) ...

We actually have 2 spare engines but only one of them is complete (ready to install) while the other one has the head off to prepare for an overbore rebuild project for a friends Miata.
