Done. I decided to add two terminals for battery ground because I have them nearby anyhow. From there, I finished it off with a weatherpack connector. Now I just have to figure out how to keep it from rattling around in my dash.

I found an error in my jumpers and the change has been reflected in posts 504 and 517.

Basically, PWM2 is already used for FAN1, and I was trying to use it for VCTS control.

This is my best guess on pinout of Aux connector and signals on the MSpnpPro

See posts #504 and #517 for more info.

The first 16" of my harness is done and covered with braiding. Now I need to fit it through the hole in the firewall and check lengths and finalize my plans. I'm getting close.

In other news, I got word that my cylinder head is getting close to being done. It's being ported and assembled with +1mm valves. I'll post flow numbers when I get them. I am getting excited, but I know that even when it's done being built I am not quite ready to do the motor swap. I feel like I want to get the cooling system improved and mount my oil cooler on my current build before I swap motors.

This is rapidly getting serious and I am getting a little excited to say the least. I doubt I will do the motor swap before I put it away for the winter, but you never know. Could 2017 be the year I own a 300whp Miata? Maybe* 400whp? 450?

Quick question if anyone is listening. I am considering buying the squaretop manifold from Boostedsmurf.

Based on my FUTURE goals, is it worth going to the squaretop or should I just stick with my VICS and save my money for a custom manifold at some point? Do we have a "next step" solution for intake manifolds at this point? I am currently running a VCTS manifold but that will be changing when I swap to my built motor.

Future goals cliff notes:
EFR6758 at about 380hp for the street, maybe tuned for 450+ on e85 at some point.

difference between vics and flattop is small from what we've seen, but the flattop has the biggest potential for making high power (bigger ports, etc), so I'd say do it.

It took soviet 29psi and a flattop to make 458. I don't see much more than that happening. Maybe 20hp less at full boost without flattop.

I thought he was up to 550whp now? (or maybe I am confusing crank estimates)

Either way, similar ballpark. I am not in a competition and either number is nuts and far more power than any car I have ever driven. I just want to build a solid well thought out car.

He never did more than 458whp. 6758 could never do 550whp on a BP lol.

7163 can, and he has one of those
(though probably not on a BP)

By the way, my engine will have a ported VVT head with +1mm valves... So I am sure that counts for something.

Matter of fact I got a text last night that the head is pretty much done. I can't wait to see the before/after numbers.

well then you need to let that bad boy breathe

seriously tho, 500whp in a BP is scary.

Just got word from the guy doing my head work.

Here are the numbers BEFORE final valve job:
Lift Before After
.1 77.9 --> 90.6
.2 152.9 --> 165.7
.3 196.8 --> 206.3
.4 207.9 --> 225.2
.5 215.1 --> 237.5
.6 208.0 --> 236.7

I'll post pics when I get them an updated numbers when it gets back from the machine shop.

Also, am I reading right that stock cams are only .350 lift? Yikes. A lot of wasted head work then.

To be honest? Probably not.

We have an untouched VICS to do a/b testing with though.

Just venting. I am really starting to get bummed out about the car right now. I am getting very close to a full year without a recreational drive in it, and six months since it has even left my garage.

I literally have all the parts necessary to make this thing a 350whp beast in my possession but I am feeling extremely demotivated. I am doing so many things on this build that I have never done that the list seems daunting. (upgraded wire looms, CANbus, full forged motor build, oil cooler, more sensors etc) I am taking so much time for every step because of this lack of experience. I am overwhelmed, and the anxiety and depression is only compounding upon itself. (not hurt myself depression btw, just malaise).

If I knew that I would get any reasonable amount of money out of my car selling it I would be parting it out already. Plus, my winter storage location is up in the air and I may have to rent a regular old storage unit.

I think another thing that is making it difficult is that my girlfriend was in the hospital about three weeks ago with pnumonia which led to C.Diff and sepsis. She very well could have died and I did not know the seriousness of it at the time. (she is in Georgia, I am in Illinois). She is still recovering and sleeping a lot. I only get one text a day out of her if lucky. I am supposed to visit her soon, possibly this Sunday, but she may not be well enough by then. If I don't go, I have some commitments at work that will prevent me from visiting for another two or three weeks. I need this vacation, I need to spend time with my girlfriend. It's been about three and a half months since I have seen her in person.

<sigh>

I am half writing this to vent and half so that when it all blows over I have proof for future periods that are rough that I got through this one fine. I know it will, but it's tough right now.
