Has anyone ever done anything right? There is life beyond spec racing.

That trans looks wider than sjmarcy's ladyboy's hips.

Where did that come from…you miss your meds or need stronger ones?

I've built similar cars as I've noted. The fun is MOSTLY in the build since when it's done…now what? Car shows, forum king, and casual event glory? Many don't drive such cars hard anyway, and that is fine. Run against slower cars at casual events and beat them like that Z06 guy who likes passing stockish Miatas?

I run into folks ALL the time where they wind up going to driving events and then suddenly discover there is no class for the car. They can run…in their own group more or less. Or have a lock on last place in a supermod class. Many people don't realize this simple fact, whether the car builder does here or not is irrelevant…others read posts too and not just the car builder. Some may not care (fine), some may care a lot (fine).

In fact there is a thread right now on m.net where a guy notes the same concern. He put the 'lil M45 onto his Miata and now has to run in one of the mod classes where the car's are much, much fiercer. So he has a faster car that can come in last all the time. After all of his effort, time, and money. LOL.

There are ways to have the street fun and still have a place to play. For instance if that was a Mazda V6, there is a place to run competitively against many other racers. Something like the KL V6 has been used in such cars.

Here is an example:

Every ******* post is exactly the same.

Thanks for using my youtube page for your case, but I fail to see how a KL motor swap is going to make his car any different from the VQ motor when it comes to classing a wheel-to-wheel series that he's already said he doesn't want to compete in.

I don't know if you've ever set foot on a track during a sanctioned race, but there are different cars on the track in various classes that all compete and have fun. He'll probably have a lot of fun doing the same thing most of this forum is doing which involves putting you on their ignore list, going to the track, and smiling.

Converting to MiataTurbo groupthink:

Yer car rulez. I wanna have sex on it. Buy my product I am selling. Let's go get that PS3 dude and give him a great big miataturbo welcome he'll never forget. You talkin' to me? I said…are you talking to me? A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. Road rage? Don't mind if I do. FTW. Facepalm. Sweet!

Personally I think building to a class is a HUGE waste of money. There is no profit in it at all and it always costs more. Racing is stupid IMO... UNLESS someone is paying me to do it.

I go to track events to DRIVE. My dick is large enough to make me comfortable and not require "winning" a plastic trophy or a set of tires. I drive the car very hard, that is it. I build, I track, I tinker, I track and the cycle goes on.

splittime I agree 100% I go out for myself and my car only. I view vehicles as companions, and driving is bonding time. Kudos to you.

Ordered up one of these today:

Will allow me to shorten overall shift linkage length to compact the drivetrain a bit.

Bling!

What are you doing for a driveshaft? Shorten a Miata one or shorten a Nissan one?

Using the front joint unit off a 350z driveshaft and sending it out along with the rear of an RX-7 driveshaft. Will be a couple hundred to get that sucker made.
