GT2554R vs. GT2560R
#22
I had my 2554 on my AVO log mani (recently died), for 7 years, and it's a great street turbo. I never had the desire to switch, until I went to the BEGI log, which lost spool compared to the AVO mani.
I'm considering switching now because I'm moving to the ETD tubey manifold, which buys some spool. Hopefully it'll make the 2560 spool a bit more like the 2554 on a log mani, and I can have the best of both worlds.

I just love Garrett.
I have what is supposedly the most recent Garrett catalog open in front of me.
There is no "707160 - 9" part number; however the 707160 - 5 and 707160 - 7 are the two GT2860R, the oddball "R34 Skyline GT-R replacement" turbos with the matches-nothing "compact" 5-bolt turbine outlet flange. The 707160 - 5 turbine has the same specs as the GT2860RS turbine (0.64 A/R), the 707160 - 7 turbine has the same specs as the GT2854R turbine.
I don't know which is best for a street 1.8.

Seems like there is a -9 part number... What now?!? By the way, you all might want to look again at how Braineacks Crappy little sleeve bearing T3 spooled up.
Mark
PS - You know I am just playing with the verbage.

Nah that's cool, I've just gotten burned by their website in the past. I was told by one of the garrett suppliers that the website isn't as correct as the catalog, but who knows. There definitely looks to be more turbos on their website than in this catalog. I stand corrected, thanks
