Hypothetical question/rambling about other oem ecu's
#41
Lets be honest guys. More than just chip torque have cracked this ecu open and can tune the stock ecu. The fact that this is the most raced car in history is the reason its never seen the light of day. You're a serious spec miata shop and you took the time to track through the hex file from the stock ecu to map out all the important tables to let yourself cheat better than everyone else in the class you sure as **** dont want to give that advantage away, you dont even want to sell it because well then everyone will know for sure you're cheating. Chiptorque does a lot of SM's but I know for a fact they're not the only ones, but I cant tell you who else tunes these cars with literally note pad and an old skool serial port flasher.
If someone wants to blow this wide open, by all means, open up the ecu, read the model number of the eprom chip, order an emulator and socket for that chip, as well as a reader, read the stock hex code onto your computer, buy IDAPro and start trying to map out functions and/or just flash the stock hex onto the emulator and start changing values to see what happens. This is hard shitty work thats going to take a long *** time even for someone who knows what they're doing.
