traditional shifter. I just know where it is in space, the same was you grab it in a car without looking for it. Now what is hard is trying to remember all my new button layouts for the HUD controls and stuff. And finding the mouse that I dont always leave in the same spot.

Playing rfactor most of the time, SP Mod (drifting). Tried out the Oculus rift at PAX East 2015 a few weeks ago, and I was blown away. Played Elite Dangerous, and can only imagine how awesome racing games will be once VR hits mass market.

Have a few buddies bugging me to get iRacing, maybe I'll try a few months out see if it's something I'd get into.

I am. I just moved up from a CSR and elite pedals to v2 base and v3 pedals.

A few weeks in already qualified for my B license and taking wins in Advanced MX5 cup...

I sold my wheel/seat/pedal setup and one of my monitors.

I'm waiting to see what happens the next 4-6 months, then I'll just go ahead and build a monster of a rig.

I'm with you on the monster rig part. Once I'm done building my actual Miata, I'm buying more monitors and a better graphics card for some crazy 7680x1440 goodness.

Should probably prioritize upgrading my wooden racing seat I built three years ago, but priorities...

Really, screw multiple monitors. It pales in comparison to VR.

Maybe once 4K VR headsets become mainstream, but for now a $300 GPU can easily run 3x1080p and a $500 GPU can run 3x1440p. Why even bother with VR when the highest resolution headsets are just 2160x1200 with a way higher FOV?

Because this is iRacing. It really doesnt look any worse on the split 1080p displays of the DK2 occulus than it does on a monitor. Its really a totally different experience. And its cheaper. My rift cost as much as one of the monitors I wanted to buy for a 3 monitor display and its better for the actual function. You're like saying you want a 1970 426 hemi cuda to go road racing because its got like 400 something hp so it has to be fast and I'm saying that 100 miata is better in every way that actually counts.

I built my own, used the 2x4 version... found a good use for my driver seat out of the 96 after putting the racing seat in.

I use a G27 and run 3 24" monitors, I like the setup.
