Default Bov Location***

Hey guys here's a pic...

With some creativity & alot fo cursing i was able to get get it to fit (very snugly) right after the TB, as the pipe curves down...Assuming there's no issue with welding here should be good to go...

As noted in the pic, gonna have to relocate that harness some to make it work. I'm thinking we can use the same mounting location, just cut/bend a bracket to move them about 1-2" closer to the firewall...

Also, mocked up and marked for the nipple for that 1" hose that comes from right under the TB and has to go to the IC piping as well...

I'm also gonna have the guy weld in the bung for the IAT sensor, prob right under the nipple for the TB hose...Scott had advised me a while back that he put his right by the TB, but that he suggested moving it closer to the IC to help with heatsoak.

Comments--concerns?

Is there not enough space to put it on the other side under the rad hose?
Can I see a side angle shot (how it looks under the rad hose) What size pipe is that?

Not for the BOV, its a tial unit...pretty big piece
The nipple for the TB hose is on that side tho...
The fan assembly/pulleys/rad hose & neck make it too tight...I tried from every location..It was either this or pretty much just out fo the IC which may have caused an issue with the fascia, etc...Not to mention road debris

Why think it's an issue?
I checked Hood clearance & closes fine(its JUST lower than the top of the intake mani)
I also checked lights up/down, also clears...

Another thing just came to mind...I have the instructions for installing/tuning the MS, and it was built by Scott...but I noticed that it looks like no one on the crew is running one, u guys confident w/ this?
From the isntructions its not much...IAT sensor wiring, Boost solenoid wiring/vaccuum, Vaccuum hose for MAP, and cionnect harnesses...but then there's the actual software...
Speakign of which, I have a MAC & my bro has a HP (windows) that we can use....but not sure about the cable needed to connect to MS...?

Its just hard for me tell from pictures about the BOV. Your gonna have to make the call.

As for the install I dont think it should be a problem. Im sure we can refer to this forum if we need to and Eli has experience with installing engine management. The software I have no clue. You should ask Scott about the connection. I thought it had a vga connectio?

I hear ya, ill see if i can get a better pic, but theres really no room...But i dont think the location i have is bad...any thing to be concerned with it being there? Or just an observation?

As for MS good to hear eli has some exp, and ur right im sure between all of us it can be worked out..

Does a VGA connection resemble the connector of a computer monitor?
Ill ask around, maybe theres an adapter to make it usb or something, i dont see the same kind of port on either laptop so thats why i worry

Ok guys, got some more done...
Picked up the rear main seal, cas oring, and pilot bearing today..
The wirecare stuff came in, looks good
And confirmed that my clutch kit, ss clutch line, and flywheel will be here by Friday!
Gonna drop off the tubes at the welder tomm(was closed today), and then once its all here just gotta get the flywheel resurfaced..
And I think I found the proper cable or adapter to hook up to MS as well..
I checked again and I only have USB ports on my laptop so I was looking at either of these..
1- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=C250-1162
2- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=M501-1210

Listen, I only ask because of lack of knowledge, but I saw theres trans seals and whatnot that are only replaceable with the trans out...Are they like so durable that I dont need to worry even tho the trans is out and accesible?? Or its just somethign that u dont replace unless really necessary?
Just bringing it up in case...

Is the rad "plastic tanked"? If so, I wouldn't have anything pushing against the inlet.

The BOV actually clears the rad hose/inlet...What I WAS gonna do, is maybe trim about an inch on that rad hose, to make the turn just a LIL better/tighter..wasnt sure on it yet tho--as u mentioned, the plastic tanks dont need any stress...

---On a side note, I may have something OTHER than alcohol for after the build.....?
