Ok so I shipped out the MS to Scott, and he'll be shipping back to me tomm. Here's to a successful startup Friday night!!!

I got pretty much everything else buttoned up...but believe it or not I STILL haven't been able to get a rad drain plug that fits!!!
I guess the rad was replaced by the prev owner, so the Miata replacement plug doesnt fit. Tonoight I bought the plug that was in the rad to Autozone to try and match it up, and NOTHING
I'm seriously considering just tapping the hole to fit a diff plug and being done with it...I dunno what else to do.

Either way its not holding anythign up as the old plug will hold long enough to startup, just not enough to drive on...

Good luck with the MS man!!

Just JB weld the old plug and just pop the lower coolant hose off if/when you change that coolant out.

Thanx Joe, I was reallllllllly not wanting to have a perm plug, but might end up that way...
What the general consensus? JB weld it or tap it for a common sized plug?

Just JB weld the hole. If you ever need to drain the rad you can easily pull the lower hose. To be honest though you prolly gonna need a new rad in the near future. Once your boosting in the middle of the summer I doubt that rad will he able to control engine temps. You also need to wire your fans in parallel. Do a search, Scott has a good write up about it. Im sure your gonna need a bigger radiator, parallel fans and an 80/20 mixture with water wetter. Thats what I had to do. Oh I also have a 180* t-stat which you will most likely need also.

the only issue i saw was that the LEDs were install backwards, therefore not lighting. I put it on my stim straight out of the box and it booted right up and manipulated the inputs from the stim.

Dunno why whomever there couldn't get the stim to work...but I'm fairly certain if a laptop was attached to it (stim or no stim) and megatune opened, they would have seen a working MS with a loaded map. The car should have started right up. The only issue being the outer two LEDs not functioning.

I did modify it while I had it open. I replaced R7 and reflashed the therm values. Added a .1uf cap to filter the tach signal. flipped the LEDs. replaced r32 and r31. removed r57. removed Tony's jumpers on r37 and r38.

I did also determine the EBC MOSFET was DOA. I have new ones coming in that I'll send him. I dunno if diyautotune had a bad batch or what, but others I built have issues as well.

Yea, thats the one thing I dont get either..
Why the stim worked for you but not here...
Does the stim have to be wired a certain way? Cuz the guy here did say that his MS was built differently..

Anyway, like we said I should be able to plug it into the harness and start right? I dont need to have the laptop connected, or Megatune opened to start the car right? Just wanna be sure...

Is it possible that the harness could be messed up?

I'm at work, car's at home.
But the fact that we tried to power it up, stim it, etc had us ruling out the harness.
Also we talked and if it is the harness Scott's gonna walk me thru it...
But when I received it he asked me to check a couple things and it checked out...
This really has me scratching my head...I can't understand how it worked for him right away, and didnt for me/us down here at all...
Now that I think about it, I should've taken Sebastian on his offer to use his MS...If nothign else to check the harness?? However, with the different MS setups I'm guessing the harnesses are different too?

You can set the spark outputs to be on like 9 different outputs, if his coil outputs are different than what DIYautotune uses or what scott uses then yeah the harness would be wrong for his MS. If his is built as shown in the DIY MS writeup then it should work right scott?

ROTFL, I'll have you pullign ur moderator hair out within a week or 2!

Ok so I'm expecting to plug into the car, and turn the key with no laptop/megatune/etc..and startup.

If not I'll call you and we'll troubleshoot the harness I guess...

Just want to make sure so I dont try to start the car, call you, and get "plug in your laptop first dumbass" lololol

it should work. it may be rich.lean and die and require manipulation, but it should crank and catch and idle smoothly, ideally; especially with your 70-80 temps out.
