If you had the money, would you get a Lex ct200h?

the prius is rated at what? 50/48?
the volt is rated at 35/40, and only has a range of like 35 miles on battery alone.
I'd rock that F-sport all day long over a prius, even at the loss some mpg; it's a total operating cost of an extra ~$200 a year to be in a much better car.

This is true. Just depending on a Californian's LA commute, that is more than sufficient. I say this just regurgitating what I've heard from various automotive journalists reviews... But supposedly it is rather comfortable. The one I road in one was a very short drive from the entrance of a rally stage to a bar, but it was definitely a more comfortable ride than the e46 we road there in.

fwiw- We have a 2010 Prius and my mother-in-law has the CT, so I drive both regularly. would absolutely upgrade if in your situation. I am more than willing to give up a few mpg for a quieter ride on the interstate since we do road trips in our Prius. But that's the main and possibly only reason, and for you that's probably not enough based on your driving.

Follow up:
We really like it. She was absolutely ecstatic when she first drove it, I've never seen my wife so happy about a car before.
Pros:
Car handles SHOCKINGLY well. I thought it was basically a prius with 17" wheels, well that couldn't be further from the truth. Apparently the chassis doesn't share anything at all with the prius: it's like 6x stiffer, the track is way wider, it actually has proper suspension (and not a beam in the back like the prius), the shocks springs are tuned for handling, etc. It takes corners just as easy as my subaru, which blows my mind cause I never expected this.
The fit/finish is also lightyears above a prius. No rattles, way quieter, everything is leather, the seats are really comfy and yet super sporty/buckety, it literally shares nothing but the engine/trans with the prius.
Cons: obviously mpg is significantly lower. I'm really not sure how I feel about the whole "mousepad" controls vs touch screen. The sound system has surprisingly little adjustment considering it's something like 8 speakers or something. I hate that there is no screen showing what's happening with the radio when the navi screen is disabled/closed. The shifter/selector is an odd shape and in kind of an odd location. The trunk is WAY smaller, and rear doors are like 3x smaller making it more challenging getting the kid in/out of the car/carseat.
That's about it.

perfect timing. we just sold it a few weeks ago.
Bottom line: we really liked it for what it is, and it's a sexy/good looking prius with a really nice interior if that's the type of thing you're looking for.
But
It had to go cause it's just too small for a family, esp when going camping or similar activities, or on a long trip where you have to take suitcases and such. Trunk way too small, rear seat pretty small too.
We sold it to my sister in law, it's perfect for her and she keeps telling us how much she likes it more every day. I think for 1 or 2 people, this thing is still really cool.
Any other questions feel free to ask.

Nice. I was thinking about a current gen mazda 3 hatch but my girlfriend wants one too and it seems silly to have two of the same car. I drove a new mazda 6 a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised.
I'm currently deciding between an is300 (impossible to find with under 150k miles nowadays), an is250 (price is too high for the mileage these have imo), or one of these. Every ct200h I've seen for sale is still somewhat low mileage and in good condition, which makes my search a lot easier, and I don't have kids so size is not really a concern.
Did you run into any issues at all with the hybrid system/how many miles did you end up putting on it? Did you ever get sick of the hybrid system? I had a rav4 hybrid rental for a few days and the lag between putting your foot down and anything happening was actually really bothersome for me. It seemed like 2+ seconds before my inputs were registered. I'm not sure if thats specific to the rav4 or not.

I went to buy a 2014 Mazda 6 for the wife, but it had already been sold. Ended up buying a 2014 Ford Fusion. Wish I had held out for another 6, but the wife liked the Fusion, and it's her car, so that's what we got.

Yeah the mazda 6 is pretty cool, we like it so far. Much roomier and a huge trunk.
Actually we recently bought another car too, a 2016 Subaru Legacy, but that's for another thread lol. The missus will be making the final decision on which she likes more, the 6 or the legacy, after we drive both back to back for a few months.
As for the CT: we had 1 issue only, the "regular" battery died on it right before we sold it. We replaced it with an optima yellowtop for $172 off amazon. Otherwise car is dead reliable, absolutely no issues. Actually the prius and the ct are rated as one of THE most reliable cars out there. That's really saying something, since it compares them to regular, non-hybrids too.
As for power: there is none. It's a prius. You have to keep in mind that you're working with something like 120-130hp. Don't expect more than that or you'll be sorely disappointed. But it does have "sport mode" which changes a bunch of things (turns the cluster red and displays a tachometer, as well as light up all the lights red instead of normal blue, LOL). The biggest change though is that it makes the CVT a lot more aggressive and keeps the revs up, so it does feel quite a bit peppier in situations where you need to actually move the car quickly.
