What, you mean GM forcing the two to mate wasn't kosher? I like to think of it along the lines of GM was like the guy who invented a mule, only it came out more like a horse where a mule is more like a donkey.

+1 on the above wisdom, if you've only got 6k to spend, you'll need a miracle to find a nice Saabaru.

Yeah, probably not a great suggestion, as they've been bastard childs since 1994, at least the 900 has. The 9000 became a bastard in 1998, I think. Ok, those were bastards as well, but mainly with European models.

The Saabaru just didn't even try to be anything but a Subaru.

yeha but it looks better than the subaru wagon, which is why I like it. so you get the powerplant and drivetrain on a sleeker car with a better interior.

I love the saabaru. If I were going to have one car instead of two, that would be one of the three I would hunt down.

Not sure where you're getting better interior.
Unless I'm missing something, that too is a direct replica, with only the steering wheel airbag being a bit different.

Why? With the 9-2x you get all the goodness of a WRX Wagon with CHEAPER INSURANCE (as in 1/2 as much, because there aren't a bunch of stupid kids out there bashing up Saabarus). You also get a better looking car (IMO) and possibly better NVH.

When I was car shopping it was between a 9-2x and a Forester XT. I ended up with an XT just because it was easier to find than an '06 9-2x MT (I really wanted a car with the 2.5).

Saab vs . subaru

I know you can get the same *****,leather, etc in the WRX, but i think it was a premimum or limted package or something. but it's very sutble difference like that. the wrx looks to use more cheap plastic where the saab used nicer looking material.

but yeah...i guess you're right, jsut odnt often see the wrx wagon in the limited package with all the standard bits the saab had. But I've reached the en dof my knowledge of the two...I've looked into the 92-x a bit, I'd like one myself, just so hard to find.

That's a TR interior which is only in the sedans. Not the wagons.
TR= Tuner Ready which is a lower trim than "standard" which is "premium.
All wagons come with the "premium" interior with the nice looking *****.
Kinda confusing but not really. But like I said: they're identical.

I've read that the Saab's have more sound deadening and therefor better NVH in general, but haven't seen any actual data.

In my opinion, the diffirence in insurance rates between the Saab and the WRX Wagon justifies seriously considering the Saab. I probably sound like a broken record with the insurance thing...

3800lbs!?!? I assume that's with two fat ***** in the car?

You want to fly out to Ohio to do an E85 tune on my FXT? I just started tuning a stage 1 map on 93, E85 + big injectors + STI turbo would probably be outside of my tuning capability...

Yup, delta weight was like 450 or something. He's 225 and I'm 200 and full tank of gas.

And sure, fly me out

My buddie has a 07 wrx wagon, bolt ons and tune with stock turbo made 260whp, 350 ft lbs. Things badass, so much goddamn torque its the perfect DD. It rips too, pulled a 13.8 1/4 mile, not crazy fast by any means but its definitely quick for a mostly stock car with a tune.

For reference my miata on 10psi (190-200whp) has a slight steady chug on it, and maybe has 4-5 cars on it by 120mph.

the 06-07 wrx wagon has been on my list. as well as the 2011-12 wrx.

but im starting to lean towards the '12 MS3 and quite possibly the '13 Focus ST.

Where did he dyno it? Because stock td04 on pump will NEVER make 350wtq and 280whp. No offense. And the 13.8 time matches up with about 240/280 which is normal for a well tuned stage2 on pump gas.
