Not unless you're competing in Pike's Peak (which we have had customers ask about on other systems). The baro correction is useful for driving if you have major changes in eleveation (like thousands of feet) before you shut off the engine. Thermocouples are not something most of our customers use.

Jim's not necessarily the average car guy though -- he's got more going on under that hood than most... he's a pretty hardcore DIYer I'd say.... Pretty sweet setup...

Sure - just turn ventilation the on, and switch to outside air ventilation (ie not cabin recirculation). Behold the magically expanding vinyl top! I usually get 1-2 kPa more in the cabin when the ventilation is on (tha LMA-3 which is in the cabin has a MAP sensor that is vented to the cabin air).

My favourite mod thus far is my 9k, vertical needle tacho with my shift lights box (which as you might have guessed, are driven by the MS). Btw, I'm 6'3", so that shiftlight box sits EXACTLY under the odometer LCD - ie its not in the LOS between my eye and the odometer.

We'll have them available at DIYAutoTune.com on Friday, listed in the catalog for immediate shipping. There will also be units available through the Group Buy that Bill (MiataRoadster.com) is running-- you can save $50 that way if you're not in a big rush...

This is WAY off topic now but I drove a 1.6 NB the other day and I'm sure it had a very similar tacho. I remember because the needle was pointing directly down when I jumped in which I thought was kind of odd. If I remember correctly it also said "6 speed" on the tacho face. I'm sure it was the standard tacho, so maybe this is another good alternative?

Here's a snapshot of a batch of MSPNP ECUs laying out on a table as the kits were coming together last night... oooohhh.... aahhhh....
BTW-- every single unit was tested on our car here-- by me actually. The mainboards were bench tested before final assembly, then after assembly they're put on our car and idled, rev'd, closed loop PWM idle is tested, and cooling fan control is tested. We stop short of doing donuts in the parking lot with each unit... it is tempting though...

As for Data Log Lab.... we're already working on it... shouldn't be a big deal.

What's the story on the knock thingie in development? Should I buy the knocksense, or wait around for your product? Any projected, rough timeline?

No real story on that yet-- Bottom line is I'd like to just resell the KnockSenseMS unit and be done with it, but the designer doesn't make enough off of it to do that profitably, nor can he make them in large quantity... so that said we'll look into designing a solution that we can offer but we're not there yet so for now I'd go with the KnockSenseMS. Boris is a good guy and I'd really like to support him, everyone I know of has had good luck with his product when properly dialed in...
Oh yeah-- your MSPNP is on the middle row, third from the left--
