Default Igniter keeps failing mspnp2

I have a 90 Miata with 96 bp. 1.6 coil pack and 1.6 cas. Running Megasquirt pnp2 i fried one igniter when i first started it. Replaced it, drove 28 miles, shut it off for an hour went to restart and fried a second igniter. Also when it was running on all four when i would open the door the idle would kick up and partly surge. I have no tach, and interior lights do not turn on until the ignition is turned forward. All grounds seem good. Can any one help.

What are your dwell settings? I'm not entirely familiar with MS but does it have variable trigger voltage to potentially drive some of the Toyota coils that require a 12v trigger?

I believe the Miata ignition module is designed to operate off of a 5v signal.

Not a MS guy, but maybe has something to do with this, combined with a wiring problem?

Spark output with an MSPNP Gen 2 needs to be set to Going High; you have it set to Going Low.

yes that's a problem. ( I didn't notice it before).

did you change it for any reason? Or were you randomly loading maps onto your MSPNP2?

stop reading about the transitor mod. you dont need to mod your MS, you need to correctly tune it so you dont break ****.

You loaded *what* base map?

Tune settings and project config appear to be from a different ECU.

Negative. We've never released a basemap with those settings. I just verified the current and all previous builds of our software.

You can download the most current basemaps here:
MegaSquirtPNP by DIYAutoTune.com

It also appears that you are using a project for a MS2, not a MSPNP. So it's quite obvious you're not using the setup from the included cd.

did you really reload the "basemap" for someone else's ECU with the improper settings for YOUR ECU and expect it to work after it failed twice before?
