12" slim fan installation
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250291675413
Has anyone installed one of these in the passenger side (main fan) area?
I installed a new pipe today, but the OEM FAN had to be removed to get it in. I was inquiring as to who might have one of these installed and did they fab up much to the radiator --- Or, is it best to get the 10" Slim Fan

12" fits fine on the stock radiator...I used the little zip tie type things that come with the fans so it took ~5 minutes.
EDIT: Isn't the passenger's side the a/c fan not the main fan?

I can't remember which one is the main, but it doesn't much matter. I had to remove the Pass. Fan (larger of the two).

Not actual zip ties the "mounting kit" these come with:

Screw you BRUCE
I just went into the garage and looked at them. BRUCE is right.
Anyway, I need to replace the PASSENGER SIDE FAN.
The shroud deminsions are 12x12 -- I wonder if I can get a Slim fit in there....
Thank You BRUCE for correcting my old age retardedness....

KPLAFIN - Which side did you use that 10" on? Was there still room to go around? Like maybe the 12" fan?

What I did, building a shroud from ABS, did push them back. If I was bothered by that I could cut down the posts some or cut the ABS where the mounting posts are, heat it and bend the tabs to move the fans closer. Because of the shroud I certainly didn't gain much working room but I have much better cooling. Far better than with the stock fans and fixing the fans directly to the rad was a complete waste of time. Overheated the 1st hot day when they were installed that way. Shroud is absolutely the way to go. I just copied the one that fatcat sells only I used ABS sheet.
I bought 2 12" fans for $21.95 each, combined shipping was about $12. This is the store...

they make special zip-ties for radiator fans....go to advanced auto where the oil coolers are, you'll see them.
That fan posted above had a hard time raising the atmospheric pressure more than the stock fan could, based on my magenhellic gauge readings.

I hate reading this kind of **** the night before a track day...I may pack my stock fans in the trunk, just in case I over heat. that or I might try taking one off. or both. or driving my car into the wall in frustration.
I can switch my fans off at any time, would it be benifitial to shut them off while I'm racing to allow the air to pass by the fans better?
