Default installing some new goodies. need some input

well my friend just gave me his 305cc supra injectors to replace my 245cc 1.8L injectors and i just installed a turbo tony dp.

i installed the dp yesturday and took the car for a drive. i was pushing 7psi before the dp and it was running fine. but im starting to lean out again... if i install the 305's will i be able to run more boost ? keep in mind im using the stock fuel pump still.....waiting on my 195 HP walbro still

If you are running lean with the 1.8 injectors @ 7psi putting in the 305cc injectors aren't likely going to help. I think your problems are somewhere else. Are you running a rising rate fuel pressure regulator?

How do you know you are leaning out? What's your fueling and ignition setup? I'd be very cautious until you know what's going on.

yea im using a begi 2025 rising rate fmu. i was running 1.8L injectors with the stock downpipe and i was running fine. but after the 2.5" dp i lean out a bit at peak boost.

i get a popping sound as i reach peak boost. braineack told me it was diagnostic of leaning out. im gunna go install the 305's and see it it helps anything. if not ill turn down boost.

it should but the bigest thing hurting you is the stock FP and, cooling of the intake change.

Likely your stock pump not able to provide enough fuel instead of the injectors.

I'd say until you get a better pump the injectors won't help.

Popping? Do you mean ping? Lack of fuel isn't the only thing that will cause that. could be too hot an intake charge (7psi with out IC or WI would be pushing it). Too much timing too. Are you running anything to manage timing?

im running a base timing of 10 degress no bipes or anything. but im running a starion intercooler and its about 25 degrees in reno right now.

i just got back after installing the injectors. car runs normal now as before. that extra 40cc helped cure it. pulls hard and smooth like before.

still waiting on my walbro before i up boost though >_<

thanks for the tips guys. ill keep ya posted = )

why would the new downpipe cause a lean condition?

it's not a big deal. i'd recommend using a widband to tune our OEM AFM however.

shinobix, best thing to do when you get your pump and throw a fuel gauge on their and tune your fuel pressures. Then get your junx on a dyno and tune your AFR as best you can, by adjusting the AFM and FMU.

well, wouldnt intercooled 25degree air be a really dense charge? at that altitude couldnt that cause you to run lean? maybe adjusting the timing back a few degrees? 6-8?

I know it can **** with your carb settings on cold night in the mountains here in san diego...

yea scott, im waiting on the pump right now. i was doing a little tuning the other day with the ghetto fuel pressure gauge in the window. i've yet to take it out yet. i think i got everything minus the pump to go to the dyno and get this baby tuned in.
