You have them prices yet?

Update: Camera phone pics. All the I/C pipes are done and hooked up, you can see how large the mustang TB is on the manifold. It makes it very challenging to route the pipes, but still is do-able. I will take better pics once I'm all done. All that's left is hooking up the fuel lines, TB cable, and vacuum lines.

why the hell cant i see page 16?!

Newbsauce 03-24-2009 11:41 AM

Because it doesn't exist.. for some reason it says there's a 16, but my post above was the last.

*edit, with this post page 16 now exists*.

I will have the pricing done as soon as I know the thing works! Granted, there is not much chance it will fail, but $hit happens.
Stephanie

Braineack 03-25-2009 02:42 PM

Fired right up today. Two minor vacuum leaks to take care of before it's driveable.

Yeah, we know what they look like.

at least you know now with that HUGE TB, that clearing the sway bar isn't fun.

when is he scheduled to go to the dyno?

maybe next weekend.

leatherface24 03-26-2009 12:02 PM

where'd you get the throttle body

disturbedfan121 03-26-2009 12:06 PM

ebay, hell old mustangs (5.0) have 70mm throttle bodies

Newbsauce 03-26-2009 02:44 PM

TB is (ebay) from Professional Products. Capping off the idle air valve and the little vacuum port and had to pick up a mustang TPS. Throttle linkage from a miata fits right on. Have to adjust the bracket on the intake manifold a bit.

leatherface24 03-26-2009 04:26 PM

Im assuming that will not work on a stock MSM ecu right

Braineack 03-26-2009 04:29 PM

how does the MSM meter air?

Stephanie Turner 03-26-2009 06:13 PM

The intake manifold will be fit up to a MSM later this year.

Dibs on my car being the test mule! :)

Braineack 03-30-2009 06:03 PM

I have determined that spool is definitely faster. I finally got my 2.25" gutted cat out of the mix and got my real test pipe on this weekend.

My EBC is still tuned for cold weather, where I took a few hundred rpms out of the target DC% so i didn't have spikes in < 60*F weather. If you notice it's spiking a little so i need to back it out a touch more on a 60*F day. So that for sure means it's faster as well as the fact im hitting 15psi at 3500 before it was closer to 3800-3900 on this same stretch of road in 4th gear.

The one thing I found odd is the DC%, I know I have a new FPR. It's supposed to be 1:1 like the stock and i can set the idle pressure basically. I need to run the gauge into the cabin and see what pressure I'm getting in boost, cause it must be over 70psi...

I've had to take close to 20 points out of my +4K fuel cells, so I'm guessing all is still kosher, just weird to see a max of only around 55% DC.

anyways:

http://www.boostedmiata.com/logs/int...oost_again.png

looks like it'll be the 10th or 11th when we dyno, brad is out of town this week.

levnubhin 03-30-2009 06:27 PM

Nice! I want one. Where did you get the parts to make yours?

18 lbs.. 2nd gear... coupler blew :)
http://i39.tinypic.com/k2ebr8.jpg

15 lbs.. 3rd gear. My BC duty is all screwed up (as you can see). Should be able to push the spool forward a bit more and post some more accurate logs.

JayL 04-17-2009 11:35 AM

So, any updates on when I can get one of these for my 01? My current intake manifold is off the car and I have cash in hand. Should I be looking elsewhere for a manifold?

Stephanie Turner 04-17-2009 03:37 PM

The NB intake manifold has been installed. Should have results in about 7-10 days. Need to make sure you are not going to loose power on one of these.
Stephanie

disturbedfan121 04-17-2009 08:38 PM

did you get enough results on the 1.6 yet?

My logs are posted above, I'm not sure who else has the 1.6 mani. I fixed the boost cycles last night and will dyno when I get back from Cancun :)

thagr81 us 04-22-2009 10:18 PM

Dynos!!! I am truly interested in this product...

i was asking steph if they had had enough results so they could start selling the piece soon lol

turbobluemiata 04-23-2009 12:16 AM

I hope they will modify the stock intake manifolds for cheaper ;)

We can, provided brain's dyno does not suck.
Stephanie

Braineack 04-23-2009 11:46 AM

haha. lets hope so. T-minus 9 days.

SlowRider 05-07-2009 09:00 PM

Any dyno results? thumbs up? down?

Braineack 05-07-2009 10:47 PM

inconclusive; I have a few issues I have to work out and try again.

http://www.boostedmiata.com/dynos/in...are_boost1.jpg

but you can see with 2psi less boost, at redline, i was making torque and eventually made more power.

bunch of people care about 1.6 motors.......now VVT motors on the other hand, thats something no one cares about.

you and 3 others on the site lol, but we're not here to argue about motors.....we're here to yell at stephanie cause this just kinda died lol

JayL 07-16-2009 09:27 AM

I've moved on and am not at all interested in a BEGi Intake Manifold any longer. Actually, if this thread was closed it would make me very happy.

Stephanie Turner 07-16-2009 02:45 PM

We need to get another 1.6L manifold made and tested. I think the original is blowing injector seals.
Stephanie

hustler 07-16-2009 02:49 PM

i don't really care about 1.6 or vvt motors. How do you guys take yourselves seriously?

his seems to be okay as of late. but yeah the angle of the rail mounts didn't match the angle of the injector bosses. They rail mounts also didn't come up as far as they needed to be so the rail was supported only by the injectors themselves, we had to stuff washer between the rail and mounts. He's been driving around enjoying life for the last two weeks without a hiccup.

levnubhin 07-30-2009 02:30 PM

I cant believe with all the interest you have gotten in these manifolds its taking this long. Seems like you guys shelved this idea.:facepalm:

this thread is an epic fail. I'm very disappointed Begi.....

Splitime 09-10-2009 11:14 AM

The trick for the injector boss issue would be to just base them all off stock IMs ;P. Cut behind the rail mount area.

Worked for me.
