These flares look so much nicer.

Good job.

Need to see fireballs spitting out of the exhaust during the dyno pull, and then the craziness that this thing is capable of at the track.

Some small updates:
Currently jigging up the rear subframe to make a tubular one with integrated mounts for the 8.8, we should be saving nearly 50lbs going this direction.

Tubular front subframe is taking shape and waiting for final welding and gussets and then the engine will go in for motor mounts and trans mounts! I’m much happier with the angle on the steering rack as I wanted to keep that in the factory location.

Really can’t wait to get this thing back on the ground and home to start working on the aero. Have lots of plans to incorporate dtm and wtac aero!

Bob Hall would not recognize this car. Incredible work.

Very interested in the new sub frame. How are you keeping the stock location, lifting the engine for clearance? I assume it has bee jigged, would be interested in a price quote for a sub frame for my f20c car. Talk with your fabricator. Anxiously awaiting some more pics of the the car with engine in place!!

Interested in seeing this new rear subframe. I don't suppose you would be interested in selling them or shipping me the jig when you are done?

For my particular car, my suspension pickup points don't use the standard Miata eccentric bolt. They are designed for 1/2" bolts. Also for my car the firewall was cut to push the motor back and maintain the factory rack location and keep the motor as low as possible.
My fabricator will be offering them for sale with a firewall template as well as an option for not cutting the firewall.

Engine should be in next week for placement!

They will be available; however, like the front they are designed for 1/2 bolts! I'm sure we can water-jet new tabs for the front and rear to use the factory eccentric bolts!

What do you think it's going to be like jumping from the old car into this one on the track? I'd probably wet myself.

Everything I've dreamed about it being, Just mental! But in all reality it will take some time to sort the car to really be able to see what it can do. Hopefully next year i can switch to the AEM Infinity and have traction control! Then once the cars sorted I want to throw a sequential in the car.

Until then, I can't wait to get it on track!

Okay, so the fire wall was cut to keep stock location for steering rack. Makes sense, will be interested to see the fitment of the turbo, are you using a top, bottom, or sidewinder setup for the turbo manifold?

One other thought, you may need to rethink the size of your lower end links/heim joints I ran the 1/2 inch size on my fp car and bent several of them, Have sense moved to the v8 roadster arms with a substantial increase in size of shank to avoid this "weak point"...just a thought.

Will still be running our custom Sheepey sidewinder, the exhaust will be interesting to figure out but with the new subframe I will have much more room to play with!

As far as the heims go! The lowers are actually 5/8" and uppers are 1/2"
Same for the rear! These i got from John Brakke who runs EP.

I have a few updates for you guys! The cage is finally complete; a few dimple die pieces still need to go in but other than that the cage is done! Front tubular subframe is nearly done; need to add some more gussets and that will be complete. Then the motor can be finally placed and engine and trans mounts can be fabricated as well as the crazy exhaust that is planned. Rear tubular subframe jig is started and will be an awesome piece with built in mounts for the 8.8 and extremely light! Then the a-arms can be modified, fuel cell mounted, sheet metal installed, front tubular core built, and v-mount setup and the car will be done at fab! Long way to go but the end is near.
