I haven't done much. Been busy finishing the build on our house. The motor is nearly finished. It has been dynoed to 4000rpm. I bought a WRXto race in a WRX race series. So that has taken any spare time. The house should be finished in the next 3 months hopefully. And then I will finish this car. Have pics of engine on dyno. Will upload to keep some interest. The goal is to finish this car by the end of the year.

This is an old pic. I have done a lot more since this. The main/front garage area is 9mx7.5m, and the rear section is 8.5mx4m with a hoist and mezzanine. I can fit about 6 cars in there. Or 4 cars and a car trailer pretty easy.

That is part if the dyno exhaust. My part is just the down pipe. It has a divorced pipe with a splitter inside the mouth.

So the tune is finished, and it has 374hp (279kw) at 6000rpm. 380lbft (512nm) of torque at 5700. Rev limit is 7000rpm as the injectors are maxed. Could go bigger, but I am happy to leave it as is, and chase more power once I upgrade the box.

So basically the same power as a 6.0l V8 SS Commodore, but 1100 kg less weight to lug around.

Tyrone had the engine on the dyno. And he had to fiddle around with oil pressure for a bit. Then he started doing the tune up to 4000rpm. But the turbo, intercooler and bits are so efficient he couldn't get the boost low enough. At 4000rpm 60% of exhaust has to go out the waste gate. It was making about 450hp at 4000rpm. He is tuning the motor to keep the gearbox alive. So to keep the boost down, he had to machine the exhaust manifold and make a place to mount an external waste gate. As well, he cut out the down pipe between the exhaust and waste gate. As it had a divorced waste gate pipe. So now the down pipe is a massive funnel flowing smoothly into the 3" system. Last I spoke it is all working well, and he got the power down to around the 220-230rwkw at 7000rpm. The 6 speed, even though it is an SE box will not take more than around that mark. It will have different torque and power in each gear. As he knows the weaker gears won't like even that much power.
One day when I get a decent gearbox, he can up the power. But 220rwkw in a sub 800kg car will still go o.k.

I think you should call the downpipe "the claw"

4.7 lb/hp, bit better than an Aventador for sake of comparison

Yeah it'll go alright, plus with all that areo I would be intigrued by another cornering speed comparison like you did with your friend's car.

Beautiful work, as always

The turbo sits pretty high, so hopefully it won't hit. No, can't get on to Tyrone. So have not picked up the motor.
Once I get the motor, I plan on getting the car finished. Might need some help and motivation Beavis.

So, I am have started work on it again. But I won't get much done for the next month, as I am doing a run of carbon fibre stuff. Like 10 hardtops, trunks, EVO roof, etc. get some cash flowing in.

The motor is ready to go in. But found a sensor missing on the top left of the gearbox. So need to put that in before the motor goes in.

WRX is going well, it is going in its first race in 2 weeks. So far, with crap tyres it has done a 1:48.5 at Phillip Island. 1.6 seconds quicker only than the red MX5 with stock 1.8 driveline.

I am making a seat too.
