Boss is a very fitting way to describe this car. Also, I agree. I could never let someone else take and do whatever they want with the car I've put so much time and money into.

id never give up this hobby no matter what happened. Its something ill be doing till the day i die. Next project will be a lot simpler and more streetable. But something i can still have fun in. Im leaning towards an s13 coupe atm. Something ive always wanted to do.

Ive seen a lot of them with big kits and massive wheels but mine will be stock body and sensible wheels. something i can drive around to the shops and still thrash it at the track :)

That doesn't sound like the Charlie I know that built MXBOSS - have you learned a few things along the way or are you just getting older/sensibler and more practical?

The mx was an awesome car.. i just wish i had a trailer to tow it around instead of driving it to the track cos lets be real, there no place for it on the street and its only luck that got me through this time.

Main reason of getting rid of it was to move to something more practical.. something with air con, stereo and any mods done to be legal apart from too low :P I have learnt not to remove the niceties in a car haha :P

So, you never really went into detail about cutting your hood vents. Did you tape before cutting, did you use a cutoff wheel, and did you do anything to finish the edge?

EDIT: Never mind. I went back and saw you put down tape, used an angle grinder, then done. I'm impressed it the cuts came out so clean.

Yeah basically just taped it.. only did it by eye then using a thin wheel on the grinder i carefully made the cuts.. im use to working with grinders so i suppose its just easy for me to make it straight.

So I know this is beyond old but there's very little info on it. When you originally swapped the stock NB6 engine into the car were you still on the NA6 ECU?

If so, did the cam and crank sensor signal wires just wire right in? Also what alternator did you end up using?
