Just a boring status update. I am still stalled on installing the trackspeed radiator. I decided to try out SPAL fans but in order to get them both to sit flat against the radiator I had to go with a staggered size setup. I am hoping that it won't be an issue because the primary fan should pull enough air (and at speed I shouldn't need fans period). We will see what happens. I am happy how it turned out appearance wise. I will post pics when I have my wiring all finalized. I would have run stock fans but my stock fans are missing and I couldn't find any locally in a reasonable time frame.

If I can get to my heat shield in storage I will try and install it for the first time since I have turbo'd the car. After the cooling system is finished the car will likely be going over to my friend's shop to get the exhaust tightened up. I have developed a rattle and we didn't use as many exhaust hangars as we probably should have. It's embarassing and annoying in certain RPM bands. I think if I do it again I will add the flex section in the exhaust. This iteration does not have that feature and I haven't seen any issues thus far but for NVH it might be a good thing.

I am on a shitty 10am - 6:30pm schedule right now so i'm really not able to get anything done when I get home from work. Weekends are all I have.

That does sound like a shitty schedule. Not really enough time in the morning to get up and be productive, then by the time you are home, you are to tired to go out and do more work.

How are people dealing with this?
the a/c heat exchanger end tank is touching the (supermiata) radiator.

No idear then. Just know the first gens had issues with NBs and A/C. After that first batch they were all compatible.

I think I'm going to trim the rubber bushing and grind the bracket on the end tank.

Well, the radiator seems to work properly but the fans cause me to stall. Matter of fact, turning on my headlights causes me to stall.

Time for a new battery? I am considering the yellow top optima... what else should I be looking into? I want something that can handle a pretty severe load for a couple seconds while my alternator catches up.

i had the same issue and got things better by upping the idle speed with lower battery voltage and server ing the alternator charging reaction to a minimum ( i will look at my settings and let you know what they were) this way the idle whent up as soon as my vatery voltage dropped a little when the fans or lights turned on and this happened before the alternator loaded up to get the system voltage back up

To much raw fanning power! The above mention of adjusting load settings sounds right on target though.

Can't hurt to get a quick battery test at the local Autozone also.

Thanks Harold and Dave. I'll be interested to see your settings. (both of you)

When you come pick up the radiator i'll have to let you take the car for a drive to see if you have any suggestions.

I hope you are being compensated accordingly?

On one hand, I am happy with my compensation in regards to hourly rate. However, in order to justify that hourly rate I need to be able to perform a bunch of new duties that I had not previously been trained. Training takes time and repetition in order to internalize and every minute that I am "training" I am not doing the job I was originally hired for, which up until January 1st took up nearly eight hours of my day every day. So, I am having to stuff eight hours of work into three, which isn't really happening.

Normally the solution would be overtime, but the hospital group I work for has announced that they are cutting 200 million dollars from the budget, which means no overtime. I have had maybe five hours overtime since the beginning of the year. On top of that, we had a couple guys leave for better opportunities and retirement and there is a hiring freeze which means that everyone in the department is having to do oddball shifts here and there where they work alone overnight (not including the boiler room guy) in a million square foot building. Thus the need for me to get up to speed to be able to take a night shift here and there to spread out the load.

It's not a BAD situation, just terrible timing for me switching departments and titles.

As has been mentioned in previous posts, I have been having a problem whereas any high electrical load (Headlights, fan, power windows) or any mechanical load (power steering) is causing my car to stall when in the idle range.

Below are two logs of the incident. My main fan is set to turn on at 200 degrees fahrenheit. The ECU does not lose power, but it appears that the injectors and/or ignition system is completely dropping for a moment when any high load is placed on the motor. If there are any fields you would like me to include and retest let me know. Sometimes I do not log with the laptop but rather on SD card and I may be missing a useful logging field.
