I’ll double check when I get back to a laptop, it’ll be next week more than likely.

Headed out of town for a bit!

That's a problem. Switch the MAP sensor selected.

Almost certainly the wrong sensor selected as six pointed out. Exactly what megasquirt are you on?

What really sucks is it's going to throw off your tune. Your tuner should have known exactly what was up. At minimum he should have known the tune wasn't going to work properly without adjustments once the issue was fixed.

Yeah, I’m going back eventually and it’s safe as is, just had them tune around it and I need to account for the additional 40ish kpa

I wasn’t really aware of it and he said he tried setting different sensors but it didn’t change anything.

Im going to try and see if it makes any difference otherwise ill just get a 3 bar I guess and go from there

Looked at settings and it’s not looking like the default one.

The settings also look out of wack to me. I looked at past tunes and it’s been like that for a while but not sure why.

I’ll change the settings just to see if it reads correctly.

I believe the standard map sensor is the MPX4250.

Yeah that’s what I figured

Im not sure why it was set the way it was

So I’ll see if it works correctly after changing, I’ll need to get a retune for corn in the future anyways but I’ll flip it back to the work around for now once I know!

So not sure what was looked at when I was there cause they said they tried to change it but it looks like flipping the sensor worked for me.

So at least I don’t need to replace that sensor at this time. One less thing to worry about, sucks it wasn’t caught before but oh well.

Would be cool if I could get my TPS working, probably don’t have it connected to the right ports but another little project.

Did you install a variable TPS or does the car still have the original NA6 TPS on it?

BMW VTPS

rear around and it just seems to be stuck at 99%, if I move the wires into different positions it just slowly climbs from 0 - 99%

Thought I had it connected right but maybe not

Using these basic steps

Well some things have been purchased.

-Flex fuel sensor
-Deatschwerks DW300c FP
-EBC

Good news:
-MAP sensor was set incorrectly in MS, works now

Bad news:
-Need retune for wrong setting of MAP sensor
-Leaking oil somewhere by the oil drain, it was a loose drain bolt as best as I can tell (easy fix), put new gasket on and tighten back up, not sure how it came loose, time to blue loctite everything

-Want brakes and to drive on twisty roads

Awesome about the E85 path. I'm sure your tuner will tell you, but typically they have you show up on regular gas and 7-8 gallons of E85 in containers. That way they can get both tuned. Since you've already had a tune and nothing changed but map sensor you may be fine. Looks like my HP without E85. Mind sharing the tuner? I went to EFI school in Lake H. Arizona and was surprised to find out how much talent was in the region.

Yeah first time going the E85 route, so I’ll call them and validate what they want before arrival, I’ll swap injectors once I get there as well.

I think it could have made more power with the EBC but you know, it wasn’t hooked up. So I’ll have it ready next time around.

I went to UMS Tuning in Mesa - Tony is who tuned it

Found my oil leak, simple one it would seem, valve cover bolts were loose. Not sure if they came loose or I didn’t tighten them all the way!

Got the oil changed up and we’re good to go.

Now time for the boost controller

Been a little while.... kept hearing a noise while the car was under load.

It was definitely drivetrain related, just sounded like a rattle but couldn’t put my finger on it, also thought I solved my oil leak and that was a lie.

So decided to drop the transmission.... partly to force myself to buy a 6 speed so I didn’t have to do this **** again.

So I bought a 6 speed from Ulrik. Need to put it all in but rear main seal was replaced and it was leaking at the bottom.

Just need transmission jack to put the 6 speed in and away we go, hopefully without the rattle.

Just need to rebuild the shifter, and I think the reverse switch or neutral switch, got the fluid already, now just need time to knock it out.

Failed miserably putting it in with normal jack and said I’ll just wait.

Then actually put the EBC in and flex fuel.

Since I’m not familiar enough and these cars are old, I assume a non-oem fuel filter will be necessary or does it not matter? I’ll do research but just things I’m thinking of.
