Did a little mini meet up with some friends

Then I decided since the fenders need to be painted I should get my Carbonmiata side markers put on before hand

So I drilled the hole and filed it just big enough for it to fit in and sit nicely!

I know carbonmiata allows you to plug into an existing light, but I would recommend soldering it to make sure it doesn’t come lose

It’s not easy to get in there and fix the wires if they come out of the existing slots

I made them blinkers instead of just daytime right lights… so then are functional now. (Ignore the chemical reaction on the door, needs paint too)

Lucky enough I deciddd to do this now cause despite the tape, while filing I slipped and it went into the fender paint, so it is what it is but annoying nevertheless

Then my absolute favorite! Some of you may remember when I got these ages ago, well I finally did the thing and had them rebuilt to my spec!

So they’ve transformed from 14x6.5 and 14x7 to 15x9 and 15x10 for the rears

That’s it for now…. Need tires and time to put the hood on fully!

Been slacking on this been back to updating.

Got tire rack mounted

Looked so cool! Then I was concerned about the faces so

Got some gauge rings and my E brake handle from Garage5.bigcartel.com and I love them!

Then it was time to get cutting to fit my Garage Vary Type 1 hood. So I wanted the the hood to not move like oem. So I made it to where the hood semi gets pulled into the hood latches so it’s nice and tight!

Garage door light hits different

Just in time for some last minute daylight

Anddd just like that I’m in love with this car even more!

Then I got the tires mounted on the sharks!!!

Now my front caster needs to be moved but otherwise that’s about it for the sharks to fit. I can roll on the rears but need the alignment to get the fronts right!

Okay okay enough sharks! Had my buddy take some photos around town!

Here are a few

Washed the speed up with the new pressure washer

Then over the weekend I went to a car meet, the first one since the transformation. This is some of what I saw as I didn’t take many pictures… just enjoying talking cars with people!

Saw another jetstream Miata in the wild! Super cool guy! I believe we are the only 2 in AZ with them!

Then we saw this 5.0 cobra Miata pull up! And that I did take 1 photo of!

Screenshot from a reel I saw. People seemed to have enjoyed Brutus as much as I have!

Until next time!

More photo with explanations

Got my alignment done! Thanks Pat for helping out!

Pats car

Realization as well, I may have put the flare on without a wheel so it may not be lined up 100% as this is as far forward my caster can go. I’m fine with it.

I also likely have slightly bent lower control arm on my driver side. After my crank pulley fell off years ago. One day it’ll all be replaced. But for now we’re rocking what we got.

Also working on some of the paint work. Just cleaning up some rough areas.

Which also required a quick wash…first in many years!!!

Before putting it all to the test again! I want this car to be ready for the track!

Speaking of prep, my turbo manifold bolts came out in 3 spots so I replaced those.

Then you know photos had to be taken!

The car performed flawlessly! So I drove it home with no issues and parked it!

Then got to work on the interior. My Zoom Meter Panel came in and I couldn’t have been happier! Another dream item acquired!

I’ve been wanting to move the gauge pod off the a pillar so I could get full visibility again. This was my solution!

Now tying it all together

Then the bad happened…

Went for a drive just getting some audio clips for YouTube with the turbo and exhaust.

Well on one of the hottest days 114° out and both my rear tires debead.

Then I ended up catching it on video but I was thrown off as to why.

The wheels seemed to be fine when it happened so I ended up calling a friend of mine to go to my house and get my spare wheels and tires to throw on so I could drive home.

So I thought my valve stems were the root cause but that isn’t the case.

Unfortunately the barrel appeared to crack on both wheels in the same areas.

Luckily the motorist assist were in the area and were able to give me some water and shelter from the heat until my buddy showed up.

We swapped everything and got home after that and went out of town.

When I got back into town and looked at the wheel on the wall I was able to turn the valve stems by hand. So I tightened those up and didn’t think anything of it.

So I gave them to my buddy to refill them with air thinking that was it. It ended up being worse than valve stems being loose.

When he filled them with air the bead broke again. Then he sent me photos of the wheels being broken.

Now I’m not sure the root cause of the barrels cracking like this. So I talked with the company that made them for me and shipped them back.

Just waiting to hear more on that, but it hurts but I’m glad I’m okay cause I was starting to roll into boost and that’s when they let go.

Also for the zoom panel, if anyone needs a reference as to how to run your wires up top, I did the following:

Just ran them behind and through the air system.

While the weather was semi decent, I took the top off to enjoy it! It was still hot but great!

Then most recently did a little music video with the Miata homies cause a friend asked us to! So why not!

Got some good donuts in before my steering shaft let go, but luckily someone was around with some tools to throw that back on and band aid it home until I could fully fix that!

That’s it for now!

Yeah especially when you’re not doing anything, super unexpected!

Never had a wheel debead let alone crack while driving before so this is a first for me!

Hope you’re ready for this long *** update.

Long time no talk!

Well then, let’s catch this thread up again shall we!

Since fixing that steering issue I have had no further issues there!

Got my gas filler cover back from paint (forgot to give it to him) so I slapped that back on

I also got my Megasquirt back from DIYAUTOTUNE and they ended up replacing the MAP sensor and fixing busted CANBUS fuse and all was well!

The car fired up!

So if anyone is looking for a DIYPNP for 1.6 let me know!

While driving down the road I didn’t have my line for my fuel pressure regulator back to the ECU line t’d so it came off… I pulled over and fixed it then proceeded to take a couple photos

Got home and took a few with the speed 3 before I raised it!

Now I was in prep mode for a car show and I decided to replace the fender trim on all the flares. I just simply got it off Amazon for like $20

The old stuff I had was 5+ years old so it didn’t stick super well. So after getting the new stuff, I cleaned up the edges with alcohol and slapped the new ones on!

Washed the car and I realized this is the 1st official wash for this car with new paint!

So I took my time cleaning everything up and snapped a quick photo and boy does Brutus clean up nicely!

In love! And this is what the paint looks like up close… little deeper than just black! When the sun hits it just right it’s beautiful!

The next day (day of CaliCreaming car show)

I drove the car around in the AM, thinking the show was then, no issues. It got pushed until later in the evening, so no biggie.

We start heading back at the right time and of course something has to break.

My intercooler broke off while driving. I’ve had this one for like 5+ years and it’s chassis mounted. So I’m assuming over the years of driving the mounts said they had enough and broke off both tabs clean.

Mind you they weld the top and I assume the underside cannot be reached because of the stick out required to make it work.

So I ended up pulling over in traffic, figuring that out(thought I blew my motor honestly) and took my passenger harnesses off and wrapped it around the intercooler and the bumper support and drove home.

I went to the show bummed I couldn’t bring my car but overall still a great show!

Here is my favorite car there, and a few others! Surprisingly there was only 1 Miata there.

At this point when I got home I was bummed but ultimately just made me want to try for another show so one day!

So I hosted my own car meet at a candy factory for Cars & Candy

Here are some of the cars that showed up!

Appreciated people showing up!

Got my replacement fab9 intercooler and got to work putting that in! Now that the shows were done I decided to disassemble the car again….why am I like this

It was time to put my Fuel Pressure Regulator in and my M-Tuned fuel rail with -6AN lines

Then it became Spooky season so in typical fashion I had to take some photos with my friends!

Got the FPR in with the rail, same 460 injectors for now and -6AN line.

But I don’t like how it looks routing wise with the hard lines so I’m going to change that in the future.

Now that I also have carpet I figured before I burn a hole in the carpet I would get floor mats! And if you know the flares I have then you know why I needed these!

Sad news is the floor mats contact the door bars… good news is, I’m not cutting the floor mats to go around the door bars!

Forgot to mention, while driving (pre fuel mods) my straight pipe came off, dragged all the way home and ruined the vband.

So I decided to try my hand at making my own! SUCCESS was had and my welding confidence has gone up!

Previously when I welded with flux I had the polarity wrong on the welder (trusted previous owner) so let that be a lesson, always double check!

So I switched to solid wire, which the polarity was set for and fixed my speed 3 coilover. Then I proceeded to make the straight pipe! So far so good!

Back on the ground again!

So now that the car runs on the new ECU, the new FPR and M-Tuned rail, it was time to get my EBC installed and working and looking at the VTPS… but I’ll have to circle back for the VTPS

Replaced my fuel pump as well, I only took video and no photos so sorry bout that but I ended up going with a Deatschwerks DW300 (340LPH) In-Tank Fuel Pump

Immediately transferred over within an hour or so, and did the hardwire to go straight to the battery and all was well and sealed up with a new gas tank seal!

Rolled it out and had to take a few photos!

A few more

I ended up taking my front fenders off to finally get paint matched since it had a little more flake in it than the rest of the car!

Even without the flares it still looks so good!

Ended up going with Porsche door pulls, and I found out I’m having a baby girl!!!

So to bring her into the car world I got hot pink door pulls, which matches the Tuckin99 floor mats, so it brings it all together!

Got it from Hallroadstersparts

I had to retrofit the them to my LRB door panels with drilling and attaching them and I must say!! They look great!

It was time to get my NB6 intake manifold old and ready for install! I’ll also fix my fuel line and return line with straight -6AN line

I ended up getting a Skunk2 throttle body and put it all together with a few block offs!

It looks so good, already ported and polished (not my work) thinking about just Powdercoater!

Last thing is completing the hood finally! New FM jet sprayers!

That’s it for now!

Until next time!
